Am curious as will be running at roebling which has a 103db level.
I have kooks , random tech cats, and corsa ti race exhaust with the mufflers added on.
It definetly has some serious roar with the cam but isn't open header loud.
Was curious.

Silver Bullet, saw your car over at P1. You must be putting out some serious noise (well, actually exhaust heat) to have your styrofoam melt out of the bumpers! Never seen that before...

my Super Trapp came lose and it burned the styro and the rear fascia. No cats, Super Trapps no disc's and it was 93 at Lime Rock.

I have the stock setup until the cats due to T1 rules, then dump into the Corsa Ti competition setup with no mufflers. At NHIS ( and their meter is close to the track ) I was measured at 95db. This might give you something to go off of.

With cats, you'll probably be ok.
No cats, could be one of those things that depends on the weather.
No cats, with borlas . . . . . better to remove the stingers (prolly be quieter ). Lugging would be OK, but at WOT it's north of 102db
I can say with 100% certainty that open header w/ 3" out the back . . . no chance [ask my neighbors]

Does anyone know how far from the track they measure and whether it's at only one location? I'm thinking I should have bot a Z06 catback. Maybe I'll take my oem exhaust along just-in-case.

Looks like it's gonna be close. If they just have the one sound station before the front stretch braking zone, I'll shift to 5th before I get there and that should help.

The key is will 5th be quiter. Depends where in the powerband the car is loudest.
My car was quieter but I think with cam it got much louder at full roar.
I couldn't get stock catback bolted on in time as I need the little connecting pipe with flange made from random tech setup.
Sounds like I won't be alone in the close call bucket
I guess after first session if they black flag then several of us will run out and get some 90 degree short end to add to the end of exhaust and point to the left.

I guess also maintance throttle (just shy of full) when you pass the reading area would lower the noise as well and probably only give up a few tenths.
I would assume once you get 50 feet away the sound it would read would drop a bunch??

We can get creative with aluminum cans to deflect the exhaust.

Yeah, except maintenance throttle is likely to be at at about 6300 rpm as I try to keep it off my rev limiter at 6400. When I dynoed the car today it got really loud above 5000. The tall 5th gear in my coupe should get it down below 103db, though I'll give up some main straight speed. Hopefully, they won't measure anywhere else as I prefer third gear from T1 to just before last turn.
Are you running Friday, Chris? I was going to but had to cancel to get the car ready.

If someone picks some tins cans, etc.. up count me in.
I would run Friday but never got any info on it.
Who do I call and how do I sign up??
I usually shift in to 5th at Roebling due to running out of 4th gear for a while before braking.
You all doing Friday??
If several folks are I might come so let me know if you are and how I sign up?

Cass - sorry you cannot make it on Friday. See you when you get there.
By the way - I run 4th at Roebling all the way around most every lap. Only when I have an exceptional exit from 8/9 do I hit the rev limit very far back from my brake pt for 1 - so I usually rest the car for a moment rather than shift (unless I am chasing someone important like the Mayor). But there are many people who are faster than me at RR .
