Default Craftsman Aluminum Jack?

my jack seems to have a bit of failure. when you go to use the jack it does nothing until you reach the last 10% of lowering the arm. any suggestion on how to fix it? or is rip!

I am on my second one from Sears - first one the cylinder failed. Sounds like what you have. They replaced it - second one has been working fine for about a year now.

There is a bleeding procedure to use also in the owners manual. Try that

If you store it on it's side, like throwing it in the back of your vehicle, and the valve isn't closed the oil will leak out and/or air will get into it. Easy fix. Add more jack oil and bleed it per the directions (pump with the valve open and then close it).

Good luck.

RTFM or some other nice acronynm and insure it is sufficiently full of JACK oil and then bleed it.

Steve

bleed it again. i have one from HF and if it gets leaned on its side it leaks. i store it flat when i go to the track. mine came with 2 screws for oil reservoir. 1 for normal use and 1 for bleeding. the 1 for bleeding has a small hole in it and lets the air out so it supposedly is self-bleeding. it works ok but not great. i bled mine about 3 times to get the rest of the air out.
