Default [Video] One Lap at GingerMan

I'm still tinkering with my video from last week, so here's one of my fastest laps of the day. I believe it's about a 1:35.4.

Thank you. I'm really not sure what Corvettes are running there. That lap was a 1:35.4 according to my stopwatch, and I missed the line a bit in a few places.

At Viper Wars in 2003, I did a 1:31 in an '86 383 cubic inch coupe on slicks. My One Lap partner did a 1:27 in my '01 Z06 427 on worn out slicks. I think I remember a stock Z06 on Hoosiers do a 1:34. Good driving toolman.

That's a great clip, 1:35's are solid lap times, but of course it all depends on what's done to the car. Most mildly prepared street cars (Vette's, EVO's, 911's, etc on R tires, suspension tweaks, etc) with good drivers run in the high 1:30's, let's say 1:37 - 1:40.

I ran a 1:34.8 in my C4 with a lot of suspension and brake work and stock LT1 motor, but my average pace is in the mid 1:35's.

Kellermeyer ran 1:29's in his C5 T1 car last year.

Car and Driver ran a 1:32.xx in a Ford GT on street tires.

Good video and nice job on the track.

If you go to http://michcorvette.org/gtrack.pdf

You will find the track records from the Michigan Region NCCC events over the past two years. These time were from a standing start at the track out in turn 11 with the timers at the tower so we were not carrying the speed that one would from a lap to lap run. All group 1 times are from cars that are stock, Group II more mods and Group III allot of mods.

No. I won't be at Grattan. I'll be at Nelson Ledges on Memorial Day and then at Putnam Park the following weekend.

And Jamie, yes I'm braking too early. What can I say? They were mush. I'm putting on my HP+ pads this morning.

I dropped on my HP+'s last night! Very nice! Make sure you bed them in good. Make's a difference. Now, if I could only find a cheap hardbar to mount my harnesses....Anyone????

I just put those on my M3. Awful. I sound like a school bus pulling up to a light. I was able to induce fade with some repeated stopping, too. So I'm guessing not the best track pad.

I don't know why I thought I needed street/track pads on my street car...

We run the HP + for autocross only which they do an excellent job for but are noisy and dirty.

Run either Hawk 10 or 14 or PFC 1 for road course and they are great. When on the street use stock ceramic and no noise and no dust.

Change the pads when we change the tires.

For track use the HT 10 was a pretty sound pad. Still dirty and noisy but the car stopped very well. I didn't detect much fade or anything else outside of wearing the pads out. With two drivers we took the pads down to 50% with a couple of autocrosses on them prior. But I really think they worked very well under the conditions we were running the car under. Gingerman is tough on brakes but even with two drivers we were both real happy with the braking performance.:
