Default 375 hp in an 850 lb wrapper.

This could be an entertaining diversion

Specifications

You'll need to work a bit to find it, but more info about the background
and the current status is available here.

No sirrrreee, Bob! That's not for me.

That thing is more of a coffin than a car. Look at the short wheelbase. It would be so twitchy at speed, it'd be almost uncontrollable.

The original design concept called for 175-350 hp. I've read
through the first four pages about this phase. He is a couple
of years into the project and I still haven't reached the part
where he switches to a V8.

BTW - midway down pg 4, he adds a bit of a roll cage, after
someone sent a email to suggest this.

Facinating to read through the history, consider his thought
processes and design method.

"While on the subject of numbers, I've found that most race cars out
there have wheelbase-to-track ratio of around 1.6, give or take. Mine
is more like 1.25. The theory being that this should favor cornering over
straight-line stability and hopefully result in faster overall lap times at
most venues while keeping top speed reasonable (gearing-limited to 160
mph). If one looks at the percentage of time spent at TOP speed vs
time spent in corners, it seems obvious that a small gain in cornering
speed will offset a fairy large drop in top speed. Shifter karts have an
even lower wb/t ratio and seem to bear this out with lap times similar
to a well-driven Viper on race tires at PIR. 40 hp and 125 mph top
speed matches 500hp and 160 mph top speed."
His car laid over a Radical

And a Radical is this small:

I think I'd rather import an Ariel Atom and be able to drive it on the street if I so desired.

I know how small a Radical is and that just illustrates my point.

IMHO, although his car might be quicker in the turns, he still has to contend with the straights in a car so short, just the slightest flick of the steering wheel would send it into an uncontrollable spin.

I wish him the best. Hopefully, he knows what he's doing.

He is one of those quirky people. He has been building that car for a while. Look at the videos of him driving his Scion. I saw him out at the track driving the Scion a few weeks ago and the man can drive.

Mine won't either, however, she may have a problem with the yellow motorcycle as it doesn't match anything else in the room.

No need to import. Brammo is building them in the US now.

I would also go for the Ariel Atom, if only because I don't see myself being in a position in the next ten years to justify a track-only car. I love the ideas and engineering behind that track car, and really hope that it's production date and my ability to justify converge soon.

The guy who runs that website had a new M5, but sold it because he felt it was too heavy, too big, and too complicated.

A DSR or CSR classed car would be nice class to get into.
There's only 4 pages in the rulebook!
