What sizes are on the MCoupe?...
Answer:You need fatter than those...
Really, Tom, you'd be in good shape with running as fat as possible, but I'm not sure of the wheel width. Check the specs of the 710s and see what is recommended, although you can probably get away with slightly wider(the sidewall will bow-out some).
Should that Z06 find it's way to my garage, I plan on running 275/315.. or 305/315...depending on my choice of springs/bars(no use taking all roll from car if I'm not going to be able to take advantage with wider rubber).
(How'd it go last weekend?)

Drifting
When I used to autocross, my car had a tendency to understeer with 275s in front. I couldn't tune it out with alignment and tire pressure changes so I went to 315s in front and, bingo, problem solved. The
4x315 set-up works well on a roadcourse, too.
It's also nice to be able to rotate tires front and rear for longer life.
Have fun.

Melting Slicks
The 275's on the 17 is not hard to do but it takes a lot of *f*(^% to get the 315's on the 18" wagon wheels. Don't let the shop try to tell you it is impossible to do.
Another alternative is the Hoosier A6 in the 275/295 set up. Should be easier to put on wagon wheels.
