Default Running without AC belt?

Does anyone run without the AC belt on? It looks like it only works the AC, and has to be worth a few HP. Just curious if anyone takes it off for track days.

Then the A/C won't work!!!
I'm pretty sure that there is a rule against not being able to turn on the A/C on pre-grid. Actually, for HPDEs I've been known to keep the A/C going on really hot days. It is so damn funny to see all these guys climbing out of their cars all soaked in sweat, and I'm as cool as a cucumber

It's not like we are racing for money

it is easy enough to do, and I did it when racing T1 (prior to removing the entire AC system, as the rules required). Whether it is worth enough at the track for the bother, well you'll have to try it and see.
