I am going to try autocrossing my 06 coupe with Z51 and stock Goodyear tires. Any recommendation on what air pressure in the Goodyears I should start with?

Next, be VERY carefull on the first.second runs. We were attending an event recently where two (2) new C6's ended up spinning out, with one hitting the 50gal drum on the rear quarter - bending/breaking the wheel in the process. As I understand it, $1500 in damages

I like to over inflate the stock tires to keep them from rolling over and damaging the sidewalls. 40lbs front and 36lbs rear should work OK for your first time out. Have fun!!

Someone else posted that you want about 40 psi after the tires heat up, on my C5 that meant starting about 36 front, 34 rear in the morning; then bleeding off pressure as they got over 40 during the day.Seemed to work pretty well.
Try to park facing directly into the sun or directly away from it (changes during the day) to keep all tires getting the same amount of sun. If you can't do that, always park facing the same way so the adjustments you make don't get knocked out of kilter by sun warming different tires at different times.

If they're run flats (with stiff sidewalls) you might be better off with less pressure, like mid-30s, to start with. People tend to over inflate.
Depending on where you're running, if it's cold outside, you especially want less tire pressure--low 30s. That's the only way to get heat into the tires.
Yes, and be careful your first run. But have a blast.

Whatever tire pressure you start with you need to carefully inspect the tires after each run - if no evidence of the tire rolling onto the sidewall - you can let a little more pressure out.
I like to put 4 or 5 white (shoe polish) marks where the sidewalls meet the tread (on the sidewall side) if the white is being scrubbed off - I need more pounds of air - if the white is not being scrubbed off - I let air out. for auto X, low pressure = better traction=faster times - so the general idea is as low pressure as you can run without rolling the tire onto the sidewalls!
