Default **Sebring In-Car video Lou Gigliotti, LG Pro Long Tube Corvette C6 World Challenge

Here is the first edition of last weekend at Sebring. QUalified 4th ran 2nd for 2 laps, then led until a valve broke and ended the day.

The car is poised to win some races. My team mates finished 6th and 11th in our other LG Motorsports Corvette C6 race cars.

Thanks
Lou Gigliotti

Is the video more than 2 laps? It's pretty evident from just 2 laps that you were much more stable and focused that the pole Viper.

Freakin' Awesome!!! Thanks!!!

(Although I've got a serious crick in my neck now....)

I was fortunate enough to see this race with a bunch of my vette HPDE buds from Red Gump's compound in Turn 3. Lou was absolutely cookin' and we all groaned when we saw him coming out of Turn 1 with smoke coming out and then heard something not quite right coming from somewhere around Turn 6 and figured that was an unfortunate end to a great race.

The World Challenge GT is an excellent race series IMHO.

I'm also really bummed about a high school reunion I have to attend the same weekend as LG's Sebring drivers ed. Booked the trip two weeks before hearing about the event... I guess I could get to another track that will be hosting the event, but I know the Sebring track pretty well and would get the most out of that instruction on that track instead of learning the line on a new track and just not getting anywhere near my car's capabilities 1st time out... Next year I hope LG will be back at Sebring, Homestead or Moroso offering the same course!

Hope to catch the St Pete event next weekend.

Cheers, John

Great video Lou. Sorry you didn't get to the checker, but look at the bright side. No Rewards weights for St Pete

Thanks alot guys.

We run a 410 rear with the GM motorsports gear box. Once I got into the lead, I should have gone away from the qualifying gear choice.
I should have used 4th in 1 and 3rd in 13 to be nicer to the engine.

I almost spun on some sand at the hair pin exit and I had one good missed shift (down instead of up). That missed shift was probably the start of the bad things to come. And if I was taking the conservative gear choice, it would not have happened.

We also run 7400 rpms every shift, and I also should have dropped that to 7100 while in the lead to save the engine.

Hindsight is always 20/20 so next time I will see better.

Thanks again.

Thanks Lou. That is a cool video. I like to watch how effeciently you are shifting that sucker. I'd love to be able to watch your feet, too.

Lou, what kind of lap times are you averaging? You were driving pretty hard throughout. Was anyone chasing you or was the field way behind?

I look forward to seeing you April 28th at Sebring.

My fastest race lap was a 2:10.4 and I did a couple of 10's during the race. I was turning 11's and low 12's when I was trying to slow the pace down but the Viper would catch up each time I did that.

Gump; The foot cam is a possibility but it would be a little dark down there, and you never know, I might smell up the screen

Thanks

Great video Lou. Thanks for the effort, and good luck next time! You definetely had the car to win! I watched the race on TV, sure wish I could've been there!

The sweet sound of victory is just around the next corner.
