You know you have a big a$$ motor when you have to use ladders to get to around inside !. The most I've used is about a 3 foot socket extrension!

It's already turbocharged....
Kinda makes you think that once you get to that size class you maybe should oughta start to rethink what you are doin.... turbomachinery make a lot more sense if you want to move that much air.

I guess it doesn't rev that high. Do they CNC the heads or do they use explosives to form the ports? Sure makes a Top Fuel motor look wimpy! Heck, it makes a 777 motor look wimpy...

How do you start it? I assume it never really gets shut down in use, only for rebuilds. In any case it is very normal in design, typical 2 cycle diesel, just really friggin' huge.

OK, just kidding, but you can use something with almost as much power per pound as dynamite...

No kidding, that's how they used to start the really big aero engines around WW1. Shoot a mixture into a cylinder, bring it to just past TDC and then add a spark from a "tickler" magneto and away you go.
