If you should have a chance, turn on the TV and look at the fans in the stands. Its a shame how much they brag about NASCRAP being all that it is but when it comes down to it is it really for the fans. If the teams and the drivers are all that and the cars are so close to factory specks according to templates then why don't they add windshield wipers, bolt on some rain tires and give the fans what they paid for. A race on Sunday not Monday.

There are only a couple of parts from the production car that make the NASCAR car. The windshield is one, and a couple of unstressed metal screw fasteners are the others. Nothing in the body pannels, engine, drivetrain, suspension, wheels, brakes, or controls is the same as a production car. To call these 'stock' cars is to misuse the word 'stock'.

As to running in the rain--I say go for it. Throw on some rain tires and let's see who has the cojoinies! But, of course, the reason they don't is that the tire manufacture has forgotten how to make rain tires for 3600 lb cars with 650-850 HP.
