Default Stock C5 Seatbelt Q? (Cinching?)

I have a 2000 C5 and the lap part of the belt will cinch, but the shoulder does not. (Noticed this while at VIR a few weekends ago)

My sisters 87 c4 cinch's the shoulder, and my buddy's c6 cinch's the shoulder, I took it to the dealer and they said my year did not have a cinching shoulder belt?

Can anyone confirm this?

Apparently one of their tech's also has a 2000 c5 and he checked his and sure enough it did not cinch either.

Figured if anyone knew, you guy's would.

Thanks!

John

I checked my 2004 and both cinch. You have to pull them all the way out and then adjust for them to cinch

Yes, i know you have to pull them all the way out...

Are their certain years where this is not the case? This is what the dealer is telling me and i dont believe them.

Neither my 98 Coupe nor my 02 Z cinch the shoulder belt. They do cinch the lap belt when pulled all the way out then released, FWIW.

I guess i will drop it then, kinda stupid for them to not have it on all of them, especially since they had it on the c4's.

Seat belt cinch's when pulled all the way out and drivers shoulder belt cinches when car makes a quick start or stop. Shoulder belt remains cinched until released when driver releases lap belt or squeezes into the seat back to take the pressure off. All C5s do the same. This is something the dealer wouldn't know since it is not something they maintain or train on.
