Default Max width on 17" wheel/tire combo

I have decided to get a set of 17" wheels and tires for autocross/HPDE for a 2004 Z06. I have 2 specific questions which I have so far not been able to answer.

1. What is the max tire size that will fit on 17x10 front and 17x11 rear wheels without any modifications (suspension, air ducts, etc.)?
2. Since I will be buying non-standard Corvette wheels, I need to know the wheel offset to order. What offset do I need front and back to avoid rubbing yet keep the tire inside the wheel well?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I run 315x17 all the way around. I think they fit perfect on the 11" wheels. On the fronts, they bend the sidewalls in a bit, but nothing big. 10.5" in front would be better. I don't have any mods to the car for extra clearance, though I heard that folks running 11x17 all the way around use 1/4" spacer in front.

If you want to run the 10" front, I'd go with the 295/40-17 size, rather than the 315. The other option is to run 11" all around with 315's, which makes rotating tires an option.

I run CCW 17s. Fronts are 10.5" and have 7.75" backspace for 315s, rears are 11s for 315s and 12s for 335s. The rear backspace is 8.75" and I need 3/16 spacers so ~8.5" backspace would be better.

17x11 all around with 315 is a great combo used by many. No reason to go larger than that IMHO.

Nice timing, this basically answered my pending question!

I'm a former C4 autocrosser that has a recently acquired FRC and needs wheel/tire help.

Would the 17x11's you're running be the standard "GS" (56mm offset I believe) sized setup?
If so. . .
-what 315's are you running?
-where and how badly do they rub?
-did you need to mod anything (spacers?) to make them fit?
-might you have a pix or two showing how far they stick out?

Thanks for any follow up information you can help with.

I run a ZO6 and FRC.

I use the GS offset 17x11 wheels.

Hoosiers at the moment - Sumitomos in past also.

I have had no rubbing problems so far

No spacers needed.

They stick out about an 3/4- 1 inch on each side - gave me flashback to N50-15 tires from the 70's but it makes the car turn in great.

I believe the GS wheels are 50 mm rear and 56 front. I know the 50mm rears which have 7.93" backspace are the "right" offset for rear.
