Sound Limit at Tracks

Uh, actually CMP (at the SCCA races) has a limit of 103. I think that's an SCCA limit everywhere so different tracks may have something different. 103 is a good baseline to go with though...for just about all tracks.

Roebling Road has a limit... was at 103 db's as I recall. Also heard it was likely to be "lowered" in the near future.
Road Atlanta has a quiet track time... on Sunday morning. My student was "Black-Flagged" driving a Porsche 968 with mufflers.

What did you say??
Depending on the class and when you run during the day, you could be limited to 90db at Laguna Seca. I spent a lot of time working on mufflers for my ITE C4 Corvette. At Laguna, I'd run Flowmasters exiting into Supertraps!!! If there was cloud cover, I'd have to go thrrough turn 5 (sound station) off throttle. If I ran SP at mid day the limit was 95db but it was still a push to get under the limit.
I also got busted at Thunderhill for exceeding the 105db SCCA sound limit at the entrance to the straight.

Safety Car
My z28 with a cutout after the y pipe and headers is pretty loud, I'd say much louder than 105 db, since my ears are ringing in the car. We'll see if it is a problem this weekend at CMP. I doubt it, since I have run in a winston cup car, and seen various unmuffled race cars run there.
