Default BMW introduces Z4M Coupe

The BMW Z4 M Coupe is the first ever two-seater racing-car developed by BMW Motorsport : The car is powered by a 3.2-litre in-line 6-cylinder engine putting out about 400hp , the suspension-developement was highly benefited by the knowledge gained from the M3 GTR project.

Interested teams can purchase the kit by May 2006 for 250.000€ plus TAX

Kit?

So I'll need a car and some investment in assembly
before I get to the track.

250,000.00 EUR = 297,740.40 USD
(1 EUR = 1.19096 USD 1 USD = 0.839658 EUR)

Is it just me or is this a bit above the usual buy-in
to run in the class?

That car is hot. But still put 297,740.40 USD into a vette and run circles around it all day long.

I am guessing that this car will be in the FIA GT2 category. Running with the 996 RSRs.

I run with them every year, and really like the people, but when it comes to other cars, they definately have the "blinders" on. I know Corvette people like corvette's and Porsche people like Porsche's, but I found them to personally be somewhat close minded.

But then we have many of "those" as well.

the difference between us and them is that when we say our cars are better, we're right

I've got a C5 and and E36 M3. They're both hot...!
Over on Bimmerforums, there's been plenty of respect paid to the C5/ZO6 in the track forums.

we'll we are certainly faster than most. I have seen some fast E36's, but they were totally gutted, light as hell and with full race motors.

What put a smile on my face was when a guy pointed to his "race" E 36 and said "that motor cost $10k and puts out 280HP". I thought...that really sucks!

Those guys (Porsche and BMW) pay a LOT more than we do, to go slower than us. So, while I appreciate and respect them, I do feel smarter about my Z06 purchase.

Seems pretty funny to see "Corvette guys" call "BMW guys" annoying. Isn't that what makes the others annoying? Or my favorite quote "those guys think thier cars are sooo great". Doesn't that go both ways too.

I've got a Cobra so your both loosers to me. j/k

Hey didn't they already make that car, yeah I think they called it a CTS-V

"that motor cost $10k and puts out 280HP". I thought...that really sucks!

That would suck $10k in a C5 would get you over 500hp for sure.

To each there own just think though if it wasn't for Mustangs, BMW's and Porsches we would just have to pass each other.

Not so. The M1 was.
