Should I try Zaino?
I never heard of it until I read about it on this forum....I went to their site and they had z1,2,3 etc extra additives etc.....do I have to get all the extra stuff or can I just order one of the Z's (which one?) and wax my car with it?

In my opinion............Zaino was great before Meguiars NXT came out. Now, NXT is all that I use. There isnt much point in going through the 5-6 steps required with Zaino when you can getter better results with just one application of NXT.

I just changed to Zaino and love it I bought Z5 for first coat and Z6 spray for second the z5 again z6 spray and a final coat of z2 to seal then one final spray of z6. Make sure you read the directions and don't put it on thick oh and also buy the hardner for the z2 and z5. My Vette is a Black C6 and man does it look great.

hmmm 2, 5 , 6, hardener, spray, are we now talking about $80 worth of wax? Can I just get one that will do an adequate job? God forbid I go out of order.

Zaino is great stuff; i tried NXT, never found it to last too long while Zaino lasts a long, long time. The first time is a bit involved, but subsequent coats are no more trouble than regular wax. Heard today they recently came out with Z2 PRO which addresses some of the some previous usability issues. I use it on 2004 black vette and i like it (Z2 & Z5 w/ ZFX) and Z6 after regular wash. very shiny. I plan on only doing the involved process once a year, then just wash, additional coats Z2/Z5 when I feel like it. All a matter of opinion, though. Check the Car Care forum under 'General' for more info.

For best results you should go through all the steps at least once. However, even a single coat of Z2 or Z5 is better than most other waxes. Why? Because it lasts a loooong time. NXT is good and gives a good shine, but it doesn't last nearly as long as Zaino. (So I've heard, never tried NXT myself, since I have a couple years worth of Zaino in the garage...) So, if you wax your car every month, either is fine. If you wax every 3-4 months Zaino is the way to go. (IMHO, of course)

NXT is a great product, and produces a beautiful and deep shine. But it just does not hold up.
The Zaino cost more, but you get your money's worth. It takes just a few dime size drops to do the whole car. (So in that respect it is cheaper than most off the shelf polish/waxes)
Order one of their kits, and you will get everything you need.
Now let's all sit back and wait for the debate to start

Questions?
Seriously, I was introduced to Zaino back in the days it took 3 days to apply it in several layers. My good friends 2002 Z06 (Torch Red) was Zainoed and it lasted for more than a YEAR!!! All he did was quick touch ups over that period and wash his car.
Dawn bath, claybar, repair any nicks, claybar again, wash and Zaino - ONCE. You're good to go for 6 to 12 months.
Peace
EG

NXT.....Not for me. Made the MY look hazy not glossy. So I stripped the area I used the NXT on adn reapplied the Zaino.
THere are those that say Zaino is more work, well it is work the first time you apply it. After that, its a piece of cake being you have the right base started already!

Zaino only way to go for me!.
I used this stuff 1st on my old Porsche where the Red hood was a shade of pink. Washed it with Dawn, Wash it with Regular car wash, Clay bar, another washing, and then the layers of wax. The car look like it just came off the showroom floor when I was done.
From that day on Zaino is the only thing that touches my MY because of the quality and how long it lasts.
Yeah the first application takes some time, but the up keep is easy and the added protection to your car is worth an afternoon or 2.

I was introduced to Zaino via this site. I absolutely hate waxing cars. I rarely wax my DD since I hate it so much. I tried Zaino right after I bought my vette. Don't let all the talk of multiple steps, 3 days for multiple coats, and that type of stuff scare you off. The stuff is an absolute breeze to apply and remove. My car was new, so I blew off the clay bar step. I stripped it with dawn. I then used Z1 (took about 35 minutes minus drying time), Z2 (again about 35 minutes minus drying time), and then Z6 (15 minutes). It was so easy I applied two more coats of Z2 the following weekend. In between washes I use Z6 (great stuff).
I also heard all about NXT and how great it was so I decided to give that a try. Instead of the vette (already a great shine with Zaino), I decided to use it on my DD (2001 F150 Supercrew). I strpped the DD with Dawn, clay bar'd (wanted to experiment), washed, and then applied NXT. I was impressed with the results and ease of use. My only complaint is that in 5 weeks, it needs to be done again. However, because it's easy to use, its not that big a deal.
So I would suggest trying both and pick your favorite. There are so many folks on the forum that swear one or the other, if you have a vette, there's no reason to try either of these products.
My $.02
