Car Wax
I have a new 2004 Black C5 coupe. What is the best wax to use? Have been using NXT but now I understand it contains mild abrasives. I need your help. Thanks in advance.

I tried NXT for the first time last night. I am totally impressed so far, but will see how well it holds up. I have used Zaino on previous Vettes and loved the shine and durability. But with the deep mirror finish I got with the NXT and at a price that is hard to beat, I may stick with it. Good results also have a lot to do with the color of your car. Some just shine up better than others.

NXT does not have abrasives in it. It does have a MILD cleaning agent but they are not abrasive.
You could switch to gold class but NXT does a great job and brillant shine.
I use it on my car and with a paint job close to $20k I have no problem using it..
There are NO scratches or swirls in my paint so NXT is fine to use

Lots of people use NXT or Zaino. I use Armor All paste wax and it does a good job.

ET,
LOL. Well yes, I can. First you get the NXT short wire tool. Then you use two chrome johnson rods and 3 muffler bearings in order to assure no sparking. Once that is done...

I might not have known not to start an Auto vs. Manual thread, but I sure as hell know not to start a "what type of wax is best" thread

Should you claybar a three way switch before waxing?
BTW, what is the best three way switch?

I have a 2001 black vert. I steer away from claybarring since any particle caught up in the bar can cause scratches and you can cause scratches if you don't use enough lubricant. Since black is so unforegiving, I'll pass on the clay bar. I got a few polish/wax tips from an auto restoration place that specializes in vette restoration/body work:
1) Use polish if you think it needs it instead of risking car bar damage.
2) NXT wax is fine.
3) Forget microfibers, terry cloth towels, etc. Go out and buy
Rags-in-a-box at Home Depot. Throw out each rag if it gets even
a hint of dirt. (Since they're cheap and plentiful, I go through
20ish during a normal waxing.)
Just my .02
