Default wd-40 takes off a LOT of caked on grime

I purchased an 87 acura integra coupe today for a daily driver/winter car. Even my beater has to be clean! I tried some 39009 and a foam pad on my rotary buffer and the results we're spectacular! look at the drivers side, then the passenger's side.(oxidation comparison)

The engine was filthy as hell. I didn't get a chance to really soak de greaser on it then rinse it, so I tried spot cleaning here n there with wd 40. Man the stuff is wonderful. Lots of crud came off the side fenders, under the fire blanket etc. It almost doesn't need to be wet cleaned.

So if you're in a pinch and need to remove some heavy grime from a motor, wd works!

Since it's a petroleum distallate, you will want to keep it away from soft/porous rubber. I wouldn't let it near the rubber or the composite springs on the c4.

I was 'forced' to drive through freshly laid tar in the heat of summer, I had lumps and clumps of tar all over the underside wheel wells.. I shot it with WD-40 and just wiped it off with a shop rag..
