Default Sill Plate Protectors

Has anyone installed the Sill Plate Protectors made by GM? I'm interested in not only protecting the sill plate, but protecting the molding from scuff marks from my shoes.

I assuming your reffering to the black stick-on type? Some of the vendors here also sell chrome ones..a little flashier :D

My 2002 came with the black stick on type and I bought a set of clear plastic ones from Mid America and you would not believe the scuffs that you get on the sill plates. I would definatly recommend the plastic ones as far as protection goes.

I've had the clear plastic covers from Mid America for 2 years now and not a single scratch or mark on my sills or the rocker panels.

Someone installed the stainless steel ones on mine, on when I bought it.
Damn good idea. If they were not there I would have bought some.

Are the plastic sill plates from Mid America installed using an adhesive or are they pressure fitted?

They snap in and then have velcro that hlds the one side to the interior carpet. I should clarify 1 thing from my post above, with these I have not gotton any marks on my car's interior panels, but a bunch on the clear sill plate guards which assures me that they are doing whar they were designed for.

I would like to have these. I was afraid the fit wouldn't be tight enough to keep them from moving a little bit and they would scratch the paint.
Is this not an issue? I'm really scuffing things up dragging my big feet
in and out.
Thanks

I just received mine and they are great! Already, the protectors have taken the brunt of a couple of scrapes. I'm glad I got them on there.

I used the plastic for over a year. In response to TomZo6 about scratches. Yes after a while they do scratch. I just got rid of mine.

Thanks Hilton Head 50th. I thought they would have to leave some scratches after a while. I think I'll just stick to lots of Zaino on the paint , lots of 303
Aerospace on the rest, and hope for the best.
