does it matter what kind of car wash you use with zaino wax
I ran out of Zaino wash (really like the stuff) and did not order any. I have been using a Armor All wash. Seems okay, but does it keep me from being able to use Z6 or additional Z2.

As long as it doesn't contain any wax, you are fine.
Why? According to everything I read about Zaino (and I do use it), almost nothing takes it off or effects it except chemicals. What would a different wax on top of it do that would be a problem?

Wax will prevent Zaino from curing to the surface properly. Therefore if you wash with a wax impregnated wash then Zaino, the Zaino coat will not cure to the surface proprtly.

He asked about washing OVER a coat of Zaino. I agree you would not want to put a coat of Zaino over another product - but you should always wash with a detergent before waxing with any product to be sure to get surface oils etc off the finish.

I should have been clearer. Using any car wash on top of Zaino will not harm the finish underneath, but like in my previous post, it will make it harder to apply futire coats. I assumed that he/she would be adding more coats in the future.

Anyone know if Zipwax carwash by TurtleWax contains wax?? The bottle does not mention anything about an added wax, but the name is throwing me off. I have been using it for years and I like the sudsy soap.

The website says it will not strip wax, so I'm good

I just got my first order of Zaino. Haven't seen anything about how long this stuff should last. After the initial application of ever how many coats, how long before I should have to do this again?

WHOOPS...just checked the ZipWax car wash bottle. At the bottom on the front it says "Adds a Turtle Wax, shine as it washes"...sounds like it adds some wax, I'll not use it on the vette, just the other cars that don't have Zaino on it.

Any car wash is ok to use as long as it does not contain any wax, the wax in car wash "CAN" leave an oily film on the surface if you use a synthetic "wax" like Zaino, Klasse, Liquid Glass and others.

I thought that at first, but I believe TurtleWax is just a name they are using to describe the shine. Its like saying leaves a Zaino shine. That doesn't necessarily mean it adds anything. The website says it does not strip wax and I could not find any information stating it adds any form of wax, so it should be fine.
Of course, I use less soap in my washes now just to be safe.
