Hmmm, I'd really have to see a picture of what you are talking about, but I don't think Meguiar's Tire Gloss is the actual culprit. I think that it must have been some sort of cleaning agent. What have you been using to protect it previous to MTG? and What have you used to clean your car with previous to this?

Not trying to tell you that you are not seeing some discoloration, but doubt very, very much that the Mequiar's product created any problem.

Why, because I know what is in the product and there is not one component that could do that.

Perhaps you should look at whatever "all purpose cleaner" or "wheel cleaner" you may be using, or if you did not purchase the vehicle new, what a "detailer" may have used, acids, extremely caustic alkaline cleaners, before you obtained the vehicle.

Often, uneducated detailers will use damaging chemicals and then use a "dressing" to cover up, to create an optical allusion, covering up the damage the created.

Would need more detailed information, regarding the history of the vehicle, what you use, the application techniques you use, etc in order to provide a more educated observation.

The vehicle is brand new... I took it home literally the day after it hit the lot. the bleaching is inconsistent. It's not seen anything but Zaino Show Car Polish and Meguiars Endurance Tire Gel. It looked fine before the meguires, which went on a week after I got it, then I kept the coats fresh, but have been so busy lately I havent had t ime... the coats wore off, and i was left with the "Bleached" spots.

More tire gloss does turn the area black.. but...

this is the vehicle in question: http://5733.com/taco/taco001.jpg

So you can see the fender flares... there isnt a picture of the "damage" here.

I usually just put the tire gloss on the plastic itself, then use a cloth to smooth it out.

I'm sorry, I don't think I understand this correctly. You put tire gel, meant for rubber, on fender flares, made of plastic.

And now there is discoloration? Please let us know.

Just as a point of information, Meguiars does make Meguiars Natural Shine Vinyl and Rubber Protectant, whic is safe on both rubber and vinyl, but the Tire Gel is really only meant to be applied to, ahh, tires.

Did you do the Dawn wash prior to applying your Zaino?

I had a customer with a white Grand Cherokee 5.9 that reported the same thing after using Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel, he showed me the stains on the area behind the rear wheels when he came over to pick up his first Zaino
order, so I know what your talking about, the stains were into the clear coat and not on the surface because I tried clay and then white vinegar and it did nothing. There is nothing in the tire gel to do this to the car, but maybe the combination of the tire gel and something that was driven over may have caused a reaction of some kind.

I've used the tire gloss on all kinds of things, plastic included, (under the hood in the vette, or the plastic line around the car) and never had any kind of problem with it before. I even used it on the 'vettes door handles.

There was no dawn wash, and I didnt zaino the fender flares themselves.

The "bleaching" is pretty subtle, and you wouldnt notice it unless you were looking right at 'em. Ill take a photo when It's light enough to. Maybe it's just dried zaino that got tire glossed over... its all toward the body of hte vehicle, and none on the outer edges of it.. hnm.
im usually wipe it off immediately if i zaino over the flares/etc

hmn

Wonder if what you are seeing is a build-up (similar to a wax build-up) which turns certain surfaces a milky white?

Meguiar's makes a product called Trim Detailer which is designed to clean build-up off of door handles, air dams, any black plastic trim. Use a soft cloth to rub Trim Detailer into the plastic, never use any type of abrasive cloth or sponge. Probably other lines make a similar product.
