How to Clean Windshield Streak-Free
I must have my 2006 Z06 pretty well sorted out if I can concern myself with cleaning the windshield. Anyway, I have never been good at it. I basically use Windex and paper towels after washing the car. The results are streaks on the inside and outside of the windshield that I can never seem to totally get rid of. Is there s secret to getting a streak-free windshield?

Here is a similar thread I started a few weeks back, https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-cleaning.html , a lot of good info in there.
I did try the Griots clay bar for windows and the purpose made cloths for glass, all seems to work pretty well.

Waffle Micro Fiber work well on windshields, better than standard micro's

Yes this but I’ll add to be sure to use a dry one after the “wet one”. This will sorta polish the glass and remove any streaking. Some guys swear by those “blue” hospital cloths as well. Do not clean windows in direct sunlight is most effective IMO. Good luck.

Waffle weave towels and not overusing product were probably the most important things I changed and have no issues cleaning the windshield anymore. I’ve found it really doesn’t take much product to clean a windshield. Normally just do a few sprays wipe, flip the towel and do a final wipe.
If your an Adams polishes user brilliant glaze makes an outstanding glass cleaner. Apply like a wax, let haze, and wipe off.

Once you get it clean I use a glass sealer.. the Griot's one is the one I use at the moment

Cleaning the inside is a pain. Early morning sun glare reveals every smudge, streak or missed area. For me it's a two step process. Use a Magic Eraser to do the heavy cleaning, towel it dry then use whatever glass cleaner you have to finish it up. Waffle weave towels are the best for glass.

Mix isopropyl alcohol with water. Spray it on. Wash it good with a sponge or your hand. Make sure to leave it wet. Then squeegee it dry. Wipe the squeegee after each pass. If it's still streaky, repeat. If it needs touch up you can hit the marks with a paper towel lightly drenched in alcohol.

Funny thing is, thinking about how much effort you'd have to use to find and get a newspaper now. My parents used to have stacks of them in the basement... I don't have a single one at my house lol

Paper towels
1st & foremost i have 3 kinds of dedicated Glass MF towels in my arsenal; and the most $ after a few washes have lint.
BUT!
I cleaned eight 5'x6' Plexiglas doors at work, inside and out on an industrial machine, with Costco Kirkland (prob Bounty) paper towels, w/ generic window cleaner, and the results were stunning. !!
Got better results than my $6 waffle weave glass towels. Was amazing.
Technique, Temp, Humidity, aside I get it.
But those towels (using 2 towel method) on that day were spot-and-streakless.
As a detail geek, I was blown away.
Not saying u should use it on ur $60k Z06

Advanced
I use white vinegar, tap water, and a few drops of dish soap. I clean with a microfiber towel and dry with one. I also clean the inside of the windshield. But then again, I am still a bit limber…for my age.

I bought a stack of these Microfiber towels. Along with any glass cleaner, they seem to work well without leaving streaks on my windshield.
