Default Paint Jeweling

I finished up a "paint jeweling" step this afternoon on my Elkhart Lake Blue Grand Sport. I used a product from Germany called Menzerna Super Finish Plus SF-3800 after I had done a step with Sonax Perfect Finish. I will be coating this car later with Kamikaze Myabi for a base and Kamikaze Zipang for the top coat.

Well done! That looks great! While these modern compounds, polishes, and pads allow you to finish down very well in just one or two steps, there is something very satisfying about going over the paint one more time and doing some jeweling for that maximum gloss! My paint looked perfect, but I went over it anyway using LC soft blue foam pads and Adam's Finishing Polish. The paint looked so wet and the color looked so rich afterwards!

Love it! Electron does the same flip-flopping. LOL Want a different shade of blue? Just add some sun.

Awesome... Menzerna and my favorite Jescar are one in the same as I found out. What pad and buffer did you use? Plus your technique looks impeccable. Just like a lot of things, you can have the most expensive equipment and compounds on the planet but if you don't know how to use them, your results will still be bad, Looks like you have it down. Very impressive

I used Rupes Yellow pads for the Sonax Perfect Finish step. For the Menzerna jeweling step I used soft black finishing pads. I used a combination of dual action buffers as Corvettes have so many contours, edges, and hard areas to machine polish. I have a Flex 3410 direct drive which I used a lot because the others wanted to stall out in the contours. I also used a Rupes Ibred Nanno, Rupes Mini, and the new Griot's G9. They all had their effective areas. I would hate to try and do a Corvette with just one dual action....the beautiful curvy body would be a real challenge with just one DA. I have watched countless hours of video on how to do this work....then I learned on my tractor's hood!!!

How are you liking the new Griot's G9? I am buying one soon, and making my Porter Cable into my dedicated 3" machine.

It has its place and its not for a curvy Corvette body as the pad rotation stalls a lot which is why I had to get my trusty Flex 3401 out which is a forced rotation DA....it handled those contours with ease. On flat surfaces the G9 does great. I love the feel of it and its ergonomics are awesome. Its quiet and doesn't vibrate so its easy to use and it doesn't wear you out.

dragls, Another product not written much about here.............

1) I would have thought you would use a "finer" softer pad than LC Green ????

2) Curious what Polish and Pad did you use BEFORE the Pinnacle Jeweling Polish ???

What about Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish ??? (with ?? pad)

3) What are your plans to top the Pinnacle Jeweling Polish

For future use I plan on using a black pad to apply it.

So, I did a full correction, three day process for me.

I started with a LC yellow pad and jescar correcting cream.

I polished with a LC white pad and jescar micro finishing cream.

Followed with the Pinnacle jeweling wax.

dragls, We do have the Jescar Correcting Compound in Common however I used mostly with
a Buff and Shine Microfiber or 3" Meguairs MF pads.....I did buy a TORQ 21 but have
mostly used my Porter Cable 7424.

I then used RUPES Yellow 4 inch pads with Menzerna OLD 4000 (now 3500) but then
switched over to CarPro ESSENCE........

I am strictly an amateur and change everyday and obviously dont know what Im doing
other than spending $$$$$$ buying "chit"

Continued later
