2001 Chevy Corvette - A Miracle Detailing - CQuartz Professional
The owner just purchased this car from an older gentleman that could no longer drive it.
The prior owner had a "detailer" stop by every couple of weeks to "clean" the vehicle.
It was totally covered in swirls marks and he wanted to restore rather than repaint.
Products
Rupes 21 with a 5" backing plate.
Scholl's S2 with a Megs 5" microfiber disc.
Scholl's S30 with a Rupes Yellow foam pad.
Before/After - Trunk - In person it looked a lot worse than this 10sec. video
Video - (iPhone6 vid walkaround w/audio) Please click on the gear (bottom right) and watch in 1080p HD
Shop hood shot
Shop side shot
Merlin Shot
Side Reflecto
The End
Thank you for looking...

Well done! Looks new again.
Can you imagine how long it took me to get my paint corrected in my garage using a PC 7424XP? Corvette clear is so hard. But, if you blow on it you leave a surface scratch. LOL

Washing is the key to preserving a swirl free surface. I suggest the Two Bucket Method.

Oh, without question. Grit guards in each. I always pre-soak using a foam gun as well. I only wash once in spring, and once again in fall. Waterless/rinseless washing with Optimum No-Rinse is usually what keeps her clean.

Nice work!
While washing (or incorrect washing techniques) are the root of problems they are not the only originators of paint issues. Sure you followed that but some on the forum may read your comment as that's the ONLY time I have to worry about the paint.
FYRARMS -- how true! The paint (ok clearcoat) is like diamonds when we're correcting but walk by the car and somehow it ends up with scratches, marring and swirling

So did you mean you have about 70 hours in to making the car look like that? Wish my paint looked like that!! Dave
