Default Alternatives to Armoral

I know this has been asked before but I don't hang out in this section much.

I don't use Armoral. I use STP but I was wondering if there is any difference between the two. Been reading about how bad armoral is and was wondering if the same is true for the STP stuff you buy at the local store and if there was a better "low cost" product that could be bought at a local parts store (i.e. Advanced Auto, Pepboys, ect.).

Pretty much all the low cost parts store stuff is of very poor quality - especially if you want a satin finish and no long-term issues. Probably the best of these is the EagleOne brand. But I never use it.

Do yourself a favor. Buy a gallon of 303 Aerospace Protecant and a quart-size spray bottle. It will last you a good long time, several years at least. You may be able to get it local at a marine store, but you can get it cheaper by ordering it from a place like http://www.autogeeks.com.

I still have about 5 bottles of armorall around the garage. Need to toss them one of these days.

Like the others here I highly recommend 303, not only does it look nice (nice sheen, not to oily looking) but it really provides protection for the parts that you apply it to. I used to own a detail shop and can give you all kinds of recommendations of products that will make your car shine, but 303 really protects the surfaces. It's a little more expensive and harder to find but well worth it.

I would suggest looking at your local marine / RV dealer or some of the large sporting good stores carry it. If you decide not to go with 303 then Meguires 40 is also pretty good, it just does not provide the UV protection.

Also if you go to their website http://www.303products.com I believe you can request some free samples.

I've been using 303 for years.
Great stuff. http://www.carcrazy.net has Protectant 303 at great prices and no shipping charge on $20 or more purchases.
I buy the Protectant 303 QT for $17.95 which last a pretty long time.

I tried all the cheap and many expensive products over the course of a year then got broke down and ordered 303. WOW, this stuff is really as fantastic as they say. It restores the color of the leather/rubber/vinyl, leaves a natural look with low gloss, resists dust, and lasts and lasts.
