I often clean by wheels using the same process as I do with the car - ending up with brake dust on the microfibers.

After a thorough washing is it safe to use them on the paint again or should I keep the towels that have been on the wheels separate - not hard to do just would like to know. Thanks!

I keep my towels seperate. I have ones for the interior, for the body, and separate ones for the wheels and exhaust. I buy mine at BJ's where they are significantly cheaper so it makes it more feasible to keep them seperate. When I use to buy them at the local auto store I made sure I got different colors and had a color coded system for each area of the car.

I keep the towels used on the wheels separate from the ones used on paint. Once a towel touches a wheel I mark it with a 'W' using a permanent marker. They get washed and stored separately as well.

Have a dedicated set of MF towels just for the painted surfaces. Don't cheap out on your MF towels, only buy high quality towels from vendors like Autogeek. The ones you get at the neighborhood auto parts store are not for paint, they are general utility only.

Get them from Costco. They are great and inexpensive. After using them on your paint, and then wheels.....toss them out......or use them for your lawn mower.
