Gold class shine, but bronz class endurance!
I'll preface this by saying I use Zaino on the Vette..
I figured Meguires Gold Class would be a good choice for my 2nd car (white Camry). I applied it 3 weeks ago, and sure enough, it looked real good.
This car is outside 24/7 and takes the direct Southern California sun every day as well as some rain we had during those 3 weeks.
I washed it this weekend and found the wax was almost completely gone pn the horizontal surfaces! Upon reading the bottle, it does not mention anything about durability; only shine.
I may need to Zaino the Camry now and see how it holds up in the same conditions.

I use Z5/Z2 on my vette and truck. I snowmobile and go through some pretty rough conditions in upstate NY(snow, road salt, sand) and have never had a problem with the surface of the car not being protected. I apply a coat in late October, early November and it lasts until spring, no problem.

I actually live in a suburb of Buffalo, but we do go riding(snowmobiles) in Tug Hill about 3 weekends a month and have been riding in Old Forge. It is a beautiful part of the state and it always has snow in the winter :)

Last year, in a burst of enthusiasm, I put ONE coat of Z1/Z5 on my beater ('98 Intrepid). It lasted at least 3-4 months .. in the weather all the time, not garaged.
A few weeks ago, since the beater was looking bad and I didn't feel very energetic, I put a coat of conventional paste wax on it. Lasted about 2 weeks. Lesson learned.

SDVette, I'm just curious how you can tell the wax is gone? No flame intended, as I use Zaino too. I'm just wondering.

Stingray-
A couple of reasons I suspect the wax was mostly gone:
- No beading of water on finish at all
- Dirt was stuck on hard
- Hazy look to the finish
My Vette beads water and stays slick and shiny for months, but I cover and garage that thing every chance I get. If I get the energy I will Zaino the beater and re-run the test!
