About to get my 07 detailed and they have 2 types of finish treatments.
Opticoat PRo and C quartz dont know anything about either 1. Has any 1 had these used on their car and how were the results?
Which is better ?
This is the car before i take it in
Thanks

Post on the autogeek forum. They are the gurus of detail. Plenty of coating users there.

Both are coatings, with Opticoat Pro being very permanent. I did it to my fathers Cadillac about 4 years ago and its still notable. It would be my choice ..... G-technic is another coating, ceramic based, and will last a year or longer with one application. Both are glossy and very durable ...... say good bye to waxing !!

Melting Slicks
I used gtechniq and really liked it. I have noticed on AG forums a lot of the professionals use cquartz and it always looks great. I think they all work well just depends what you are looking for.

Advanced
There are many different makes/types of paint coatings on the market.
I will admit, I've tried some, but not every paint coating that is made.
My favorite is CQuartz FINEST. It is a ceramic nanotech paint coating.
I did my pride-&-joy about 8 months ago. No more waxing or sealants.
Coat and you're done. I don't get to try the different LSP's any more.
The sad part is, I truly enjoyed doing the Mr. Miyagi Wax On/Wax Off.
I enjoy the different "looks" of wax products & I'm still a big BFWD fan.
CQF coating is different.
It is fun to watch the hydrophobic properties when she's gets washed.
Now when she gets a bath it's "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" water dance.
Wash, dry, spray, wipe and you're done. No more close & personal time.
Don't do a coating.
If you enjoy the you & the paint, one-on-one, personal therapeutic time.
If you get pleasure from applying Carnauba wax & connecting with paint.
If you have (like me) more waxes than you can use in over two lifetimes.

So question... I'm still a bit confused about all the products...
I have a 2012 GS Centennial Edition. I just purchase a PC DA polisher with a couple of orange pad and a couple of white pads.
I plan to wash the car (foam cannon) and then clay with Mothers clay and quick detail spray as a lubricant.
Next -- I have some Meguiar's clear coat polishing compound, SwirlX swirl remover and NXT Tech wax 2.0.
What is the proper sequence?? Swirl remover, polishing compound, wax?? OR Polishing compound, swirl remover, wax??
Also, I have polishing COMPOUND but I keep reading that I should use finishing polish after the swirl remover... are they the same thing??
Thanks in advance for the help.

Wash -- Clay --- Polish --- Protect
generally speaking with polishes:
compounds are most aggressive and used first when needed.
swirl removers are often medium abrasive and used in a lot of settings
finishing polishes are light and best used for minor marring and boosting gloss and reflection.

I had my 2014 C7 Opti Coated and really love the results. I opted not to have the paint corrected first. The shop I used did clay the car first, opti coat and seal. Now, once a week I either wash and spray wax or use the California duster and spray wax. I will be trying the Surf City detail polymer spray soon to see which looks better. Seriously, the car is so shiny after the Opti Coat that it looks wet.
