Question for the pros...
I blew my C7 money on a 2014 Silverado instead, and was surprised in the owner's manual that it says "application of aftermarket clearcoat sealant/wax materials is not recommended" in the Finish Care section. Is that for real? Just curious.

It's nonsensical babble designed to scare customers into buying the car manufacturers own products or products they sponsor. Some customers are left with the impression that their warranty will not cover paint issues if they use products of their own choosing. Many superior products are out there and you are free to choose.

So far I just love the truck - this thing is so much more refined than my old Avalanche DD. LT\Z71

If you are concerned .... order some Optimums Opti-coat 2.0 and apply one coat. Forget anything more than washes and drying for the next three years !!
Now it would be cool to see any manufacturer add a "coating" to the list of options and then I could see the warning in the manual. Till then, you gotta care for your paint.
