Default Chrome wheel cleaner

I prefer to clean the outside of my car by wiping it off with Pledge and microfiber towels so it rarely gets washed. Works great for the paint but the brake dust really builds up on the wheels.

What is a good wheel cleaner that removes brake dust? I just want something I can spray on and then clean and wipe off with a microfiber towel without needing to hose off the cleaner.

I would use a traditional wheel cleaner first and flush afterwards. You can then consider a coating to protect the wheel and offer wipe downs with a rinseless wash.

Just remember brake dust can be very abrasive and chrome while quite durable, is a pain to polish out marring. Use soft, thick towels and flip often and use many.

Thanks but I am trying to find something that does not need to be flushed off as the cleaning goes on inside the garage and the hose is outside. Pain to drain the hose after every use.

I use Never Dull. Typically after I wash, but you could substitute by damping a cotton towel and wiping the majority of brake residue off. Then polish with the Never Dull.

waterless wash would be the best choice .... you can mix up your own or purchase it premade. More cleaners than a quick detailer.

The other day I noticed a bottle of spray I used when claying my car. The stuff in the bottle was water with a teaspoon of liquid detergent.
Just for the heck of it decided to try it on the chrome wheels. A gentle spray then a wipe off with a microfiber towel and the brake dust literally just melted away.
Best wheel cleaner I ever used and it was basically free. Give it a try

If you plan well you can get all 4 wheels done with the small bottle. The larger size gives you a little extra time and overlap. I have 14 months and counting from one coat currently. It amazing on my Iforged Swifts.
