Liquid Glass? Your thoughts please...
I have used Liquid Glass for years...but with all this Zaino talk I am beginning to wonder if I should convert. Has anyone used both products?

Not sure if I'd buy into the hype about it's being easier to apply. It isn't.
BUT, it really leaves little or no residue. None of that nasty goo built up between panels and around edges, etc. That alone will keep me using it.
And the stuff does look great. Really great.
Try it. If you wax on a normal basis, you have nothing to lose.

I used Liquid Glass for years and was very happy with the results.
After being on this Forum for a while and hearing so much about the wonder polish, I finally succumbed and tried Zaino.
I couldn't believe the difference and will never go back. LG is a good product, but if you want the best shine, you have to try Zaino. And the hype about it's durability isn't hype at all. Zaino lasts longer than any other polish I've tried. Mine went thru the winter and still beaded like the day it was applied after six months. I've never found another product that will do that.
Unfortunately it's difficult to get what sound like objective opinions about Zaino. We all get enthused about how well these products perform and start sounding like members of a cult. If you start using the products, you'll sound the same way. There must be something in the products that causes this transformation. Be warned, but use it anyway. You'll be impressed with the results.

used it for years on my 92 and 94 c4's....good product that tends to streak alot unless you use multi coats..now I use Zaino and would never go back...the results from Zaino is superior( even with all the hype from some forum members) it does not cure cancer,,, but is the best product I have found so far.. :seeya :seeya :seeya

I tried everything at one time or other and I will tell you that the Zaino is better then anything I have ever used. My last stuff was Eagle One WET and I thought it was good until I put on this Zaino. At the Cruise- in- lll I was asked by more then one person what I had on my 1998 Coupe that made it so shiny and deep torch Red looking. Also I bought some Stoners Glass cleaner and I will now use nothing else on my glass. It is Great stuff. I also only wash my car using Zaino car wash. :D :chevy  :D

I've used Liquid Glass exclusively since my 94 Z28. I'm afraid if I try Zaino that I'll never go back. Same reason why I've never fooled around on the little lady... :blueangel:

You Must Use Zaino.....You Must Use Zaino......You Must Use Zaino, ugh, did you really expect to get any other answer here.
If you'd like to try another product I recommend Meguiar's Show Car Glaze. There is no wax build up (it's a polish), no dust or powder after use, only use very little, and lasts a very long time (sound familiar). ;) I'll match my cars shine and depth of color against any Zaino'd car (and have) without using a multi step process to do it.
This of course is JMHO and in no way meant to flame the many fine Zaino users. :)

Re: Liquid Glass? Your thoughts please... (hcvone)
My shops used more Meguiar's Show Car Glaze than you woiuld ever believe, we had 36 locations, but Show Car Glaze has very poor durability in the weather, if it works for you that is great, it just offers shine but not protection.
Since you certaintly have had more experiance with Meguiars than I and since your shops used it so often I can only assume you were very happy with it's results. As far as protection is concerned, most if not all corvette owners pamper their cars. They are usually not daily drivers, not used in bad weather, they are however garaged, covered, etc, etc, etc, so I don't see durability in weather as a big issue for most owners.
In any event I enjoy polishing my car and from the comments of Zaino users who apply coat upon of coat of the stuff they do too, so how would anyone know how durable any of these products are if they are applied so often?
Again all I'm saying is I get great results form Meguiars. I didn't have to Dawn strip my car, and I didn't have to apply multiple products to achieve it.
Hopefully this forum is open to opinions that differ from the crowd.

Re: Liquid Glass? Your thoughts please... (gq82)
Jerry, you do not have to use Dawn before Zaino, but using Dawn before you use any product will tell give you the best adhesion, because it remove silicone oils and different waxes. At least half of my Vette customers drive their cars daily, not in the snow, but in all weather conditions, they like the fact that they can polish/wax their cars a few times a year. Believe me I could get Meguiar's products for my own use for free, and if I never tried Zaino I would be using Meguiar's products because I like them, but once I tried Zaino I was very impressed, I used it for a few years before I ever sold the product, and I will use it long after I stop selling it. If your happy with the results your getting that is all that matters. :)

I was a BIG (well I am 6'7") fan...used #7 show car glaze, followed by Medallion...LOVED it...gives a nice warm shine and lasted a good long time.
I heard all the hype about Zaino here and I had a buddy who used it for a couple of years on his black Firebird...I thought it was his black paint...it was the Zaino.
Since my Bonneville and my Vette are the same paint code and both in great shape (albeit different body materials) I gave them both the FULL TREATMENT.
Bonneville: Dawn wash, Clay Bar (Megs), Medallion Cleaner, 2 coats show car glaze, 2 coats of Medallion.
'Vette: Dawn wash, Clay Bar (Megs-DOH!), Z-1, Z-2, Z-6, Z-2, Z-6.
Both cars looked equally shiney...Megs/Bonne looked warm and familiar. The Zaino/'Vette looked like it was encased in glass. Both cars had that "smooth as glass" feel to them.
Zoom ahead through several washes...Bonne beads water...WOAH!!! The 'Vette sheds the water...water is jumping off the car (subjective I know but it still does) The 'Vette still feels smooth as glass (washed and followed up with Z-6) The Bonne is followed up with Final Inspection...I still say apples and apples but the Bonne is not slick like glass.
Several more weeks and several more washes...Hello, Carl...I gotta jump in the deep end and get the whole Zaino package.
MY final analysis...Megs was great, Zaino better...I Zainoed the Bonne after Winter and the water jumps off it too...
When actually doing all the steps, the Zaino is MUCH EASIER TO APPLY and there is no white residue or buildup...just my .02...Like Carl said...whatever works for you and like someone else said...once you try it, you will "hype it too!

BTW, I found Meguiar's #7 a major PITA to use, compared to Zaino & even compared to MHP. The worst offender however is 3M IHG. Why the hell is something that has absolutely NO durability so difficult to buff off?

Here is what I would typically do for Zaino:
1. Dawn wash
2. Clay
3. remove swirls w/ cleaner/polish
4. Z-7 wash
5. Z-2/Z-5
Note: if you do in fact decide to do step three (which most people don't), then a Dawn wash isn't even necessary. You can use normal car wash.
Here is what I would do with meguiar's:
1. Wash with Auto Shampoo
2. Clay
3. Swirl-removal
4. Polish w/ glaze
5. Wax
That's the same number of steps. You can't skip the polishing and glaze steps. According to Meguiar's (& I completely agree with them), wax adds some shine to your car, but the real shine agents are the polishes and glazes and the wax is just used to seal in the shine.
Furthermore, maintenance is easier with Zaino... All you do is slap on a coat whenever you feel like it. With wax, you have to reglaze periodically and then apply wax on top of that.
I use meguiar's too. I'm a big fan of their polishes as well as Meguiar's #26...which I use from time to time on my black car. However, I do not in ANY way think that it takes less time and energy than Zaino. One of the reasons I switched to carnauba on one of my cars is that I was getting a little bored of Zaino. Carnauba is a real challenge and requires a lot more work and I've learned a lot. I hope this post isn't coming across as inflammatory. Just wanted to clear up a few things.

Re: Liquid Glass? Your thoughts please... (Intermezzo)
Back on topic... I use liquid glass, have for many years and I like it alot. I have though about switching to zaino but there just seems to be too many steps, and it isnt cheap. I am going to try something by formula 1-1-3 bead X I have just heard very good things about. As far as liquid glass goes it is good stuff VERY easy to apply and REMOVE, may not give the best shine but certainly isnt the worst either, and it sure does feel nice :hat

how DO you remove Liquid Glass? it claims to not be a wax, so will Dawn work?
