I always used to hand wax my vette but a few weeks ago i got a buffer. I buffed my vette like 3 times and im starting to see a lot of dam swirl marks all over, what should i do to remove them? Is there a compound i can use to remove them?

Check out the car care section.. swirl fighting is a pain, swirl prevention is the key.

Megs twins are about the only thing I've found that will do the vette clear coat without any drama / wasted time.

mezerna check it out on detailers domain very good stuff i use it all the time, start with clay then mezerna light compound then polish then finally i nice coat of wax.

Lots of great information and products at detailed image (www.detailedimage.com). Put E90post in the discount section and you get 10% off. The owner is a pro detailer and provides great support. Product selection is important but if you get too aggressive you can do damage to the clearcoat so when I see the word compound I get really nervous.

I have always use 3m products. I use perfect-it system you can buy the complete system all 3 pads and 1 compound and 2 polish one is a swirl remover and the other is a ultra fine looks awesome on a dark finish cars

I use wolfgang 3.0 and lake country white pad to remove fine swirls/scratches

I have had excellent success with Menzerna 203 using an orange LC pad to remove all the swirls and light scratching on my black Z.

First thing you need to do is determine what is causing the swirls...and stop doing that. You have a limited amount of protective clearcoat, so you don't want to be buffing once a month forever.

I think that even more importantly than the type of product you use is what machine are you using to apply it?

If you are using a rotary buffer it will be difficult to get that swirl free finish without leaving buffer trails or light holograms in the paint that will be visible in the sun.

A Dual Action machine, DA, is probably your best bet as they are easy to learn and can get great results. They are also really safe too because they are not as aggressive as a rotary.

I bet you could use the same stuff you are using now except switch to a DA polisher and have great results.
