Default What to use on my Z06 rear brake ducts?

I just picked up a 2003 Z06 last weekend and it's in real nice shape except for the rear brake ducts. The previous owner waxed them and now they are a grayish-white color. What can I use to get them back to the original condition?

Autogeek has a wax remover that should take all the old wax off the black plastic. You can always try the peanut butter trick first and see if that will take it off. Smooth, not crunchy.

I recommend either Forever Black or GTechniq C4 Trim Restorer. Forever Black is a permanent dye. C4 claims up to 2 years.

Peanut butter has been used for years to remove dried wax. There is an enzyme in the peanut butter that will dissolve the dried wax so it can be wiped off. Put the butter on and let it sit for about 20 minutes or so and then wipe it off. Do it again if necessary. Works great and smells good too. If you have a peanut allergy I would not recommend doing this.

Ultima Tire and Trim Care is another great product and lasts quite a long time. We also carry the Forever Black and the newer Carpro coating systems.

Are these products kind of like dyes or are they cleaners?

I think it's the oil in the peanut butter that does the trick. I've tried peanut oil and vegetable oil and had good results and a lot less mess.
