Can Anyone Recommend A Good Foam Gun?
I was watching a car detailing show on cable and they used a foam gun to spray on a thick foam before washing the car. Can anyone recommend a good manufacturer for such a gun? I checked a couple sites, i.e. Griot's Garage, Adams Polishes, Autogeeks, however I could not find anything. I might have missed it by searching under the wrong description, so any advise is appreciated! Thanks!

There are versions for hose (foammaster), pressure washer and more. See middle of page. Most are similar only the emblems on the canister are different or size.

Yes, I got mine from AG. It works really well. I doubt I will use it often but it looks like it will work great and protect from those nasty swirls when the car is super dirty like with this salt on the roads.
Shop around for price and don't forget AG has a price match guarentee. I got an awesome deal from AG on mine.

I got the Autogeek Foamaster Gun first and recently the foam cannon. If I'm going to do a traditional wash (not ONR), I always use both. I can't imagine not using them. After using a pressure washer to rinse the surface dirt, I hit it with the foam cannon and let it dwell for several minutes. I pressure wash the foam off and wash the entire vehicle using the foam gun to flush my lambswool mitt for the entire panel. That way, *hopefully* it flushes any dirt as I move it across each panel. When I finish, I rinse the entire car again with a CRSpotless to avoid any water spots.

Thanks for all the replies. So is the proper procedure:
1.) Rinse
2.) Apply Foam (wait)
3.) Wash with normal car wash soap
4.) Rinse
5.) Spot Free Rinse
6.) Dry

This is what I do, and it has worked well for me:
I blast the vehicle and wheels with water to get off as much surface dirt as possible.
I go after the tires with a cleaner and brush (leaving the wheels alone).
I then use the already loaded foamaster and spray the entire vehicle and wheels (smiling at having fun is allowed at this point).
I start washing the vehicle with a 'dedicated paint finish wash sponge' once the soap/suds starts fading - top of the vehicle down, using the two pail method, using the same shampoo as I used in the foamaster .
Wash the wheels last with a 'dedicated wheels sponge'.
Rinse it all off.
Dry it nicely.
Then I use with a quick detailer to keep the finish slick.
Enjoy your new toy; you will wonder how you lived without one.

I am in the process of cleaning up and upgrading my garage and my car wash tools need to be updated as well. I just bought a nice wheeled-hose cart, a new better quality rubber hose and some brass shut off/quick release hardware so that I can swap out the various components rather quickly.
I really like the idea of a foam gun! It looks to be as much fun as when I use my pressure washer around the house.

I use the same shampoo in the wash pail and the foamaster; that has worked well for me. So, try the Adams that you have in both - you may have to experiment with different amounts of shampoo and different foamaster settings to get it to come out as sudsy as you want.
If the Adams does not work out as you hoped, and you are looking to try something else, I use chemical guys citrus wash and gloss which is nice and sudsy.
If you can, post pics of your car being foamaster'd so we can see how it worked out.

Thanks for the information. I currently use Adams car wash, so do I use the same car wash/shampoo for the foam gun or does that require a different, more concentrated cleaner/formula?

I removed the gun portion personally and added a Dramm 300 shutoff. I then added a quick connect to all nozzles and the foam gun. Now I can easily and quickly switch between items.
