Default Rejex ROCKS!

Used Rejex for the first time tonight on by Z06. I think I found a new friend!

Yes, I know the car is in the garage and not out in the sunlight...but in Missouri...there is no sunlight...2-4" of snow forcast for tomorrow. Gona have to wait for the sunny day pictures.

we took on Rejex for our forum friends and it sells very well with the Vette crowds and for good reason. Easy to apply, easy to remove, durable and can be used on just about every surface.

Rejex Rocks Indeed !!!

Default Rejex at Corvette Museum? Help

Can I apply Rejex over the top of whatever the Museum uses to present my car to me? I'm told it is "C....something", but NOT wax. I'm afraid to take the long road trip to AZ w/o something on there. Bad experience w/new cars w/o sealant or wax. Thoughts?

The product used at the museum is a sealant also. I would personally suggest that Rejex is more durable (long protection). Remember any paint sealant or wax is a very small thin coating that offers little protection, certainly less than the UV protection in the paint and clearcoat itself. The biggest benefit to using a sealant is to protect from bugs and make cleanup faster and easier.

I personally would strip the paint sealant from the factory once you get home with a paint cleansing lotion or polish (abrasive). I would then add two coats of Rejex allowing 8-24 hours between coats to all sealant to bond completely. You'll be good for months and months.

The Museum uses C-Magic. It is a mid range sealant IMHO and is more than sufficient to get you home. I would then prep my finish using a polish like Menzerna if needed (I hear the Museum does a pretty good job) and then apply a better sealant that is more durable like Rejex, Blackfire, WG or my favorite Zaino. The thing I like about Zaino is it does not require a 12 to 24 cure time like Rejex and it also will not stain trim. I also like the fact that you can apply multiple coats at once if you use ZFX and contains no harsh cleaners or solvents that will remove the previous coat.

Bottom line is, like Mike Phillips says, find something you like and use it often.

For those who have been using Rejex for a while I have a question.

The bottle says thin coat let it dry to a haze and wipe off.

Did I wait to long to wipe it off....cause it didn't just wipe off. I would do 2 sections and when done with the second would go back and start removing it. Not as bad as a carnuba wax but sure didn't just wipe off either. I ended up taking one mico to wipe off the majority then a second fresh one to buff. Any suggestions?

My guess would be you applied a bit too much. You really have to be careful and apply a really thin coat almost to the point that you can barely see it. I have done my Vette using the same process you have and no problems with removal, so that is why I am guessing you applied too much or to thick.

I too tend to think you applied a bit thicker than needed, or perhaps your environment is more humid ?? Rejex needs a good 30 minutes for true curing (drying) and can actually be left on much longer. If you can keep car in a dirt free area (like closed garage) you could leave it an hour or more.
