Ditto the wash with a scrub brush and let them dry in the sun. They come out soft and clean.

I use Woolite foaming carpet cleaner - just spray on and then use a moist bristle brush to scrub the cleaner into the carpet. When dry, just vacuum.

Try Folex, it's a carpet cleaner available at your local Home Depot- it is an absolutely amazing carpet cleaner for spots and stains. Google it...

I'll "3rd" that. I do that to all my cars mats.

Use something like Rug Doctor or your favourite stain remover to pre-scrub, then throw them in the washing machine. Buddy with an auto detailer business taught me that one.

I use a rotating brush attachment to get the loose dirt off, and if they need cleaning I use Lifter 1 with a scrub brush.

This may sound primative but I take them out of the car, wet them down in the driveway, and put some Dawn dishwashing liquid and spray diluted 50/50 SuperClean degreaser on them. Next, I let the solutions set for a few minutes and then scrub them with a bristle brush. The Dawn and SuperClean remove grease and dirt and don't appear to harm the pile or color of the mats. Lastly, I let them dry in the sun which doesn't take long on a hot Austin day. Cleaning them once or twice a year in this manner usually keeps them looking great.

Good luck on whatever method you choose.

find a product called Folex (Home Depot, Walmart, Lowes) and you'll be impressed with its power. Our Wolfgang Spot Remover is another choice too.

I use a carpet extractor prior to that used a over the counter carpet cleaner. Foaming ones seem to work well

Default Griot's Garage Carpet Cleaner

I've found that Griot's Carpet Cleaner and a brush works well for me.
