Default Which Wheel Cleaner?

I tried Meguiars chrome wheel and All Wheel Cleaner on cold alloy wheels and wasn’t impressed. There was still some good brake dust residue on the wheel.

Years ago I had a product that did a much better job. I think it was Armor All in a Tall Can all but I am not sure. But whatever it was it dissolved the dust much better than the MeGuiars. Spray it on, wait 1 min and wash it off with a hose and 95% of the dust was gone. Meguiars gets about 75%-80%

CF should have a car care forum with detail gurus in it for questions like this

P21s is the only wheel cleaner I would use on my two C'5s and the Bimmer that had custom wheels.

"While a bit more costly, P21S Wheel Cleaners are significantly cheaper to use over the long run based on the surface safety they offer."

May have to check on price. I dont mind uisng a product making a claim as long as they refund if it doenst meet the claim. If it lives up to the hype then there would be no reason for me to take a chance on another product.

This is why i never bought ZANO from Sal. Sal from was a bit hesitant to backup his product

Clean them however you like, then Rejex your wheels.

They'll wipe clean with a damp cloth.

We had a '03 Expedition that was the absolute worst at leaving brake dust residue on the wheels of any vehicle we've ever owned. Tried everything- finally went with soap and water once a week.

Just use the wash mit near the end of washing the car. Vettes don't have complicated wheel designs, ya don't need tp spend 5+ bucks on diluted 409 in a different bottle.

I've been using Adam's wheel cleaner and have no complaints. They have a 110% satisfaction guarantee too.

Seems like Kaleco would have a product for this.

After you clean them, use "armor all wheel protectant.". It's a fairly new product. Run a search, there is a huge thread in C6 gen about it. Not one bad review, amazing stuff.

Use it on both my polished aluminum and clear coated wheels. I haven't tried the gel, only the spray.

I actually just bought this from Target 2 nights ago. i plan on using it this weerkend after I clean my wheels on all my cars. I want to compare to Rejex which I have used on my wheels in the past. I have 3 cars so I have some good sample to evaluate. My Latest addition, an AUDI A4, has incredible stopping power. Needless to say, those wheels get incredibly filthy after 4 days. I took a hose to them sunday after Meguiars wheel cleaner but the wheel cleaner got at most 80% of the dust off.

I'm sure there are better wheel cleaner products where a hose is all you need afterwards. I could also buy different pads but I wont get the incredible grab of the current pads. So I am anxious to try this armor all wheel protectant that I just bought. It is suppose to repel dust, or atleast makes it easier to come off with a simple water-hose application. I will apply it to the AUDI this weekend after cleaning the wheels with soap and water and then evaluate next weekend I might only apply it to one front and one rear wheel and compare it to the other 2 wheels next weekend. I will also I try a simply water-hose off on all the wheels to see the diff

At the end of the day, I do not believe you're going to be able to simply spray any wheel cleaner on and expect it to clean without even some light brushing.

I personally use Z-7 diluted with water in a spray bottle, brush the wheels with a very soft brush, and do the barrels with Autogeek's EZ Detail brush and my wheeels look fantastic.
