Here is a compiled list of everything that I do on my 96 convertible (Canvas top). If it is your first time detailing the car, do all the steps the first time:

Every Week or Every 2 Weeks:
Vaccuum Interior- Vacuum all of the carpet and floor mats, and put on attachments to get in crevices.
Dust/Wipe off Interior- Take a slighty damp 100% cotton terry cloth towel and gently wipe off all dust and debris from any surface on the car.
Wash Car- Wash the Corvette with "Z-7 Show Car Wash", and a Chennile covered wash mitt. Then, dry the Corvette off with a Torro Leaf Blower (Use only on the Corvette, no outside work), and dry the remaining water off with a 100% cotton "Royal Velvet" towel.
Detailing Spray- Use "Z-6 Gloss Enhancing Spray", and spray a small section, then buff it with a 100% cotton "Royal Velvet" towel. This enhances the Zaino Polish on the Corvette.

Every Month:
Protect Interior- Take some "303 Aerospace Protectant", and spray a generous amount on a 100% cotton terry cloth towel, and wipe on all plastic and vinyl surfaces.
Clean Tires- Spray "Simple Green: Automotive Cleaner and Degreaser" on tires, and scrub with a tire scrubber brush. Rinse off, and they are now ready for a tire dressing.
Clean Wheel Wells- After washing your car, use the remaining car wash to was under your wheel wells. After clean, spray a 100% cotton terry cloth towel with "303 Aerospace Protectant", and wipe it on, then allow it to dry.
Protect Tires- Pour some "Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss" on a tire applicator (such as "Eagle One Tire Swipes"), and wipe it on tires. Wipe off excess tire dressing.
Clean Windows- Spray some "Stoner's Invisible Glass" on a 100% lint-free terry cloth towel, and wipe it on glass. Spray on all windows inside and out.

Every 3 Months:
Clean Leather- Spray "Z-9 Leather Soft Spray Cleaner" directly on leather seats, or on a 100% cotton terry cloth towel, and massage the cleanser into the leather. Take a clean 100% cotton terry cloth towel, and wipe the surface.
Protect Leather- Spray "Z-10 Leather in a Bottle" directly on leather seats, or on a 100% cotton terry cloth towel, and massage the conditioner into the leather. Take a clean 100% cotton terry cloth towel, and wipe the surface.
Polish Corvette- Mix "ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator" with some "Z-2 Show Car Polish", and dampen a "Zaino 100% cotton applicator pad" with "Z-6 Gloss Enhancing Spray". Apply sparingly to Corvette, because a little goes a long way. Polish Corvette back and forth on hood, trunk, and top, and up and down on sides. Let sit for 30 minutes, then buff off with 100% cotton "Royal Velvet" towel. Apply 1-3 coats waiting approx. 30 minutes in between each coat, and spraying "Z-6 Gloss Enhancing Spray" in between each coat.

Every 6 Months:
Clean Carpet- Spray all carpet evenly with "Stoner's Carpet Cleaner". Allow to foam for a few minutes, then take a damp 100% cotton terry cloth towel, and wipe up all excess cleaner. After carpet dries, vaccuum to remove all lose dirt and grime particles. For stubborn stains, use "Stoner's XENIT Stain Remover", and a carpet scrub brush.
Protect Carpet- Spray "Stoner's Fabprotex Fabric & Carpet Protector" evenly on all carpet, and allow to dry.
Clean Convertible Top- Spray "303 Convertible Top Cleaner" evenly on your convertible top. Massage with palm of hand and make sure the cleaner spreads evenly. Rinse off with water.
Protect Convertible Top- Spray "303 Fabric Guard" evenly on your convertible top. Allow to dry.
Fill in Microscopic Swirls and Scratches on Corvette- Mix "ZFX Flash Cure Accelorator" with some "Z-5 Polish for Swirl Marks & Fine Scratches", and dampen a "Zaino 100% cotton applicator pad" with "Z-6 Gloss Enhancing Spray". 30 minutes in between each coat, and spraying "Z-6 Gloss Enhancing Spray" between each coat. Allow to sit for 24 hrs. after the third coat, then apply 1-3 coats of "Z-2 Show Car Polish" in the steps mentioned above.
Condition Weatherstrip- Put a small amount of "Dielectic Silicone Grease" on a 100% cotton terry cloth towel, and massage it into your weatherstipping. Wipe off any excess with a 100% cotton terry cloth towel.

Every Year:
Remove Contaminants from Paint- On a just-washed car, take "Z-18 Clay Bar", and rub it on your entire paint surface. Be sure to use a lubricant (some "Z-7 Show Car Wash" mixed with water works best). After claying, wash car with "Z-7 Show Car Wash" as described above.
Polish Glass- Place a small amount of "Z-12 Clear-View Glass Polish" on a 100% cotton lint-free terry cloth towel, and buff it on your windows. Allow to haze over, then buff off with a clean 100% cotton lint-free terry cloth towel. Do not use on tinted glass, or on any coated class.
Clean and Protect Plastic- Place a small amount of "Z-14 Plastic-Magic Cleaner and Polish" on a 100% cotton terry cloth towel, and rub it on any plastic surface. Safe for flat plastic surfaces only (not rugged ones).
Clean and Protect Engine Compartment- Spray "Simple Green: Automotive Cleaner and Degreaser" on a 100% terry cloth towel, and wipe down all of engine compartment. Allow to dry, then apply "303 Aerospace Protectant" on a 100% cotton terry cloth towel, and apply to all Plastics and Rubber.
Clean Undercarriage- Flush all of undercarriage with plain water. Allow to dry before driving.

I use the Haartz brand name spray cleaner (www.haartz.com makes the top material on the C-5s) and the 303 Fabric Guard.

A properly maintained cloth top should bead water AT ALL times, if it does not the cloth sealant applied to it at the http://www.haartz.com factory has broken down leaving the top material prone to staining and discoloration. The 303 Fabric Guard is invisible and will reseal the top material.

I have both of these products in stock, the Haartz cleaner is not sold in stores and is hard to find. Both of these run 27.50 plus shipping. Send me an email if you need the correct products for the fabric.

Here is the procedure;

Important: A program of keeping the top clean through regular washings BEFORE it gets dirty, will enhance the life and beauty of an acrylic top and make successive cleaning easier.

Most automatic car washes will not harm sport topping fabrics. Washes with water jets and hanging cloths are preferred. Those using heavy barrel brushes should be avoided. Haartz recommends hand washing in the shade or partial shade, not direct sunlight.

Bird and tree droppings as well as other loose particle soils should be removed immediately. Vacuum the top with a brush attachment and rinse the roof fabric thoroughly with water to remove these loose particle soils. This will also prevent the soils from being redeposited during the cleaning process. Once the top has been rinsed thoroughly, spray apply Haartz Roof Cleaner evenly over the entire top while the top is still wet. Washing with soap and warm water is a safe alternative to Haartz Roof Cleaner, but not as effective. DO NOT USE DETERGENTS. Allow the roof cleaner to soak into the top for 10 to 20 minutes and then scrub the top lightly with a soft nylon brush or terry cloth rag. Rinse thoroughly, preferably until no
remaining soap foam is observed. Allow to dry. Additional cleaning may be
required. It is best to determine this after the top has dried completely. After drying, cleaning must be followed by re-water repelling the fabric with a fluorocarbon system such as 303 High Tech Fabric Guard . Failure to do so will result in rapid resoiling of the unprotected fabric.

The fabric itself does not promote mildew growth. However, mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances that are not removed from the fabric. For these more stubborn cases, soak the fabric for approximately 20 minutes in a solution of no more than ½ cup (4 oz.) bleach and ¼ cup (2 oz.) Haartz Roof Cleaner per gallon of water and scrub lightly as indicated above. Excessive soaking with the bleach solution can deteriorate seam threads, so be sure to rinse thoroughly.

Rinse entire vehicle to remove all of the bleach solution from fabric and to prevent streaking on painted and chrome surfaces. Acrylic fabric readily absorbs water but dries quickly. Several cleanings may be necessary.

Do NOT use top dressing cleaners or conditioners containing silicones, organic solvents, petroleum distillates or plasticizers that may permanently stain the fabric. This product is made from 100% solution dyed acrylic fiber which is thermoplastic. Do NOT subject to excessive heat.

The use of stronger cleansers should be left to professionals experienced in handling this type of fabric to avoid discoloration and degradation of the special protective inner layer
