Default Opinions Wanted: Finish Kare 425

Hi guys...

I've heard very few things about Finish Kare 425 as a quick detailer but those few things were positive. I wanted to solicit some more opinions for anyone using this. Would it be suitable with Souveran wax? I am aware of Pinnacle's detailer, but I'm not keen on the price and the small bottle size so I'm hoping the 425 might be a good alternative. It costs a lot less and comes in a 32 oz bottle. At the rate I go through QD's this is attractive to me. Thoughts? Car is black; I use multiple coats of Zaino and top with Souveran.

I use it on a black Zaino'd Mini Van in the winter as a quick "fix" for my wanting to do something detail wise but it's just too cold. It's slippery enough!

I've been using FK425 on top of PS paste and it looks fantastic, but I'm gonna give Pinnacle Liquid Spray Wax a chance and see how that turns out.

I think it's a good QD. It's easy to use and adds some slickness and gloss to the paint.

I've been very happy with it over SSII. I went from Quikshine to trying Duragloss FC&S and Megs Ultimate to finally FK425 and I would pick FK425 with Quikshine slightly behind.

425 has been a hit for sometime and thus why we took on the line. Its nice on waxes and sealants and looks quite nice. Not alot of cleaning power, more of a Detail Spray. The also offer 146 (Anti-Static) which looks more like a sealant in that its crisp and glossy. I think both offer alot of bang for the buck.

I would however grab Souveran Spray Wax over either above at showtime. It just looks incredible over all nubas. So no wrong choice in either IMO.

if you burn through QD get some Optimum Instant Detailer, its essentially the same as fk425 except it dilutes at 3:1 or even 4:1

I bought FK425 a few years back because I was looking for alternatives to Z-6. I love Zaino detail spray (and the smell) but, it's expensive and they don't sell it by the gallon.......

Needless to say, FK425 is as good as all the rest for what it is and it's not as expensive. If you use detail spray on several vehicles I would recommend giving FK425 a shot......

FK425 is a very nice QD but personally I would go with Z8 on top of that combination for the ultimate in looks.

If cost is an issue you can always cut your Z6 and Z8 with distilled water to make it more cost efficient. I have cut it up to 50% and still gotten great results from it. I actually keep a 50/50 bottle around for when it is really hot out as I think it works better in the heat on a warm surface.

Thanks for all the great replies! A lot of good ideas were floated.

I do have Z6 and Z8 both on hand; normally I am happy with both but since using Souveran as my top coat I began to wonder if the Z line was still suitable as opposed to something designed to work with the Souveran. Then I realized I'd never even tried other QD's at all in the past ten years since I found Zaino. I've been slowly moving away from the Z because it's so hard to get in Alaska. No distributors here and there are mailing issues apparently, so I have to pick up my Zaino whenever I fly south and haul it back in my checked baggage. So soon I will be out of Z6 and Z8 too and will likely not be replacing.

I may spring for the Pinnacle QD and just use it for those car show occasions; and try the Finish Kare as my daily detailer for the cars. No reason I need to have just one or the other; I just didn't want to burn through the pricier bottle in a month or two.

I smell an Autogeek order coming up... any new sales coming down the pipe?
