Default Someone Critique My Detailing Shopping List, Please

Black C6, some hairline scratches, old water spots, some marring. Car is a daily driver.

Sealant will be Rejex. Not sure if I want to follow up with some Pinnacle Souveran...I don't want to spend another $100.

I'm thinking Rejex + NXT for the time being.

What am I missing? Comments on pad selection?

I'd recommend considering spending the extra for the flex polisher.
You should add a clay bar.
I think for pads several orange and white, and one black or finishing pad suffices.
I don't know about your MF towels, but make sure you are buying quality towels.

Thanks. Just don't want to spend the extra coin for the Flex since I might use it 2x a year. Maybe if the economy was in a bit better shape. The new Griots is apparently the closest thing to it, sitting somewhat above the new PC7424XP in power and just below the Flex.

Clay is on my list above.

Everything is from Autogeek, so I trust their MF towels. I have a $100 gift certificate.

For pads, 2 orange, 2 white?...no "black" pads in the CCS Lake County series, though.

What about Megs 105/205 vs the Menzerna?

instead of 6.5 pads get smaller like a 5 or 5.5 they will cut faster and will make polishing easier and faster, if you have 6 pads to choose from get:
2 orange
2 white
2 blue

use the orange with Sip to cut and come out pretty smooth
use the white with nano to fine polish and get more gloss
use one blue for the NXT to make applying it thin super easy
and another for rejex to apply it thin again super easy

105/205 vs sip/nano is a matter of preference, I have no experience with m150/m205 but alot of people have had great success using the kevin brown method

after you machine polish the corvette, honestly wont make a difference what wax you use so stick with what you have and if you dont like it then go with the souveran

i vote for megs 105/205 combo
i just started useing them and fell in love, cuts the time in half with outstanding results. but you cant go wrong with menz products either. and i like the 5.5 pads too.. orange, white, and a finishing pad.

Your list above is solid, but let me add a couple hints. Rejex is a pure sealant and NXT is similar but with a light cleaner and not as durable. Move to a pure wax "if" you want a topper. S100, Pinnacle SSII, DP Max Wax, and Poorboys Nattys Red will all help and wont break the bank.

The Griots buffer is fine for your needs and limited polishing time. Flex is certainly more powerful but also a larger outlay. I suggest sticking with the Menzerna SIP/Nano combo as proven by many here on site. You could also go with the Wolfgang Combo which is similar. Megs 105/205 is also a good combo.

Stick with two pads minimum for each car and stick to orange (abrasive), white (medium), and grey or red or blue (finishing pads).

Remember the 15% off sale and free gift offer ending tonight and place it in couponcode or comments section of order.
