Re: ???in zaino??? (1990bevile)
Zanio is a synthetic polish. It makes us of modern technology, a polymeric systems, to create a clear flexible layer of protection over the cars paint. You can check out the product line at the following web site <http://www.zainobros.com>. It is more durable (thus longer lasting) and easier to apply and remove than conventional polishes. The polish can be layered to create a nice brilliant shine.

No. Zaino is absolutely, positively, without a doubt, NOT a wax. Big, big difference when you begin talking about polymers and carnaubas.
They are apples and oranges in comparison.

Re: ???in zaino??? (rubyred93)
Ok 1 last question...I went to the zaino site they had like 15 products, but lots say polish. Now when talking about wax (not zaino) polish usualy refers to a semi abrasive substance used to oil down the paint and essentialy grind away a layer of paint (hense the removal of scratches by grinding down around the scratch). Does zaino use abrasives in Z2 or Z5? Can you buy abrasiveless zaino? I know you can buy carnuba based products wth no "cleaner" aka polish, or silica buuilt in, but whats the deal with zaino?

Neither Z2 nor Z5 contain any abrasives. Zaino serves to fill in the surface of the finish, not sand it down.
You will also want to distinguish a little bit when talking about waxes and polishes....strictly speaking, they also are not the same beast.
If all of this is a bit confusing, log onto a Detailing Forum and try to read and absorb as much as you can. Given some time, it will all come together for you. :)

Thanks for the info! Just the fact that it contains no abrasives makes me more inclined to like the stuff. Also just read a test where Zaino #1 + #2 came in first place after 30 days, with reguler Zymol second. Meguiers didnt last the 30 days. http://www.nsxsc.com/nsexcitement/waxtest.html
well as I wright this I just read about the Zymol waxes. Aperantly they use a different wax for each car type/ color. However they recomend using there Natural Liquid Polish first: "Polish is an easy to apply cleaner and polish containing nature’s most effective and expensive ingredients. This dual action, non- solvent based, all natural formula cleans and protects in one simple step. Liquid Polish will remove minor scratches and oxidation. A combination of Kaolin Clays from Africa and gentle Almond Meal from California provide a safe and effective cleaning action for your SUV without abrasion. Pure Beeswax provides a water-repellent finish"
AH HA! Kaolin and Almond meal. ABRASIVES!
I will say this though aparently there wax's contain 30-60% carnuba. That is very very good compaired to meguiers, 3M, Mothers, Prestone, Hi tec which contain 5-10%. On the other hand they cost $40-$200 for 8 ounces. Who would pay that when they could get zaino for $20 (for #1 and #2). Crazy.

I take it you have yet to see the Zymol Estate Waxes that cost $1,000.00 per container. But did I mention - that comes with unlimited refills for life? Wow...what a selling point.
If you dig a little further, you will also find that Zymol sells "specialized waxes" for such things as Fire Trucks. What is that old saying....there's an a** for every seat.
Yes, indeed. :yesnod:

One point about carnuba, it's not optically pure. When your paint is wearing carnuba, you're looking at it through a filter...
