Are you refering to Top Inspection or another Menz product?

At first I use a microfiber towel to remove the excess product on the surface. They are paint safe and highly effective at collecting the remaining product.

Polishes can contain a very little bit of oil for workability which can stay behind even after a careful removal. You can remove that with a product like Menzerna Top Inspection Spray as mentioned above. The other option is to use a product like the Chemical Guys Vertua-Bond 408 which helps remove any residue left behind and leaves the surface very clean. It helps the sealant or wax applied next to bond with the paint for optimal durability.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

If you guys are referring to after polish/before sealant/wax, then I use MF towels and then either a 50/50 water/alcohol or Z6 with MF.
I use ZPC as my final polish so I'm comfortable either way.

FWIW, I find alcohol to do a better job a removing some of the more stubborn polishing residue then Menzerna. I have never tried Ventrua bond.

Some polishes on some paints will just act funny. For example I usually get a weird reaction with Menzerna PO106a. The polish will tend to dry out quickly and may spit little worms of product out (if it is a CCS pad) or the rotary will bog down. It usually will take 2-3 wipe downs with heavy strength alcohol to reveal the surface. In cases similar to these, where the lubricant has become stuck on the surface Menzerna Top Inspection didn't help the process and worked similar to heavily diluted alcohol.

In most cases either a light dilution of alcohol or Top Inspection will work find, but keep something stronger around in case you need it.
