06'Black Z06 w/7K miles looks like a hologram!!!Help!!
So the car was at the dealer prior to my purchase and of course the idiots there took a buffer/orbital/rotary to it and it looks like sh*t, and i mean sh*t.. May be the worst hologram/hazed/swirled/scratched black car iv seen in a while. So question is what do i do to repair it? I dont want to hide it, I WANT TO REPAIR IT!!!!!!!! wash, claybar/prep blah blah, but then what? Orbital with a polish....Any straight forward answers, details, tips tricks, specific products, techniques appreciated.....This ones gonna be a nightmare. Thanks to everyone in advance who is gonna give some help!
Also not sure if i have patience to do this...Anyone know their stuff with Black around West Chester, Pa?

Sorry about the car. I can't tell you how much "I'd hate that", as well. But, I am sure it can/will be fixed. Besides, low mile Corvette......has to be good!
Not sure about local detailing experts, but, would ask the same question on the AutoGeek.net forum (for process, products and detailers in your area) and take a look at the link from Detailed Image/Esoteric Detailing (unfortunately for you and me, Esoteric is in Columbus, OH). The owner of that business, Todd Cooperidge, has done some nice work & had it posted on the DI site. The black Z06 in the photos/process overview is the best set of black 'vette photos I have seen on the web, at least in my opinion. So maybe some of his product/process suggestions would help. I'd even email him a photo for suggestions & use DI or AG for products, depending on what you decide on.
I'd recommend getting in touch with Barry Theal of Presidential Details in Lancaster. He does very good work and can bring your car back to showroom condition or better.

Experienced detailers can do some remarkable things with damaged finishes. Of course you can do it yourself but if you are not confident in your level of expertise the professional detailer route may be better and cheaper in the long run.
get a Flex and Lake Country orange pads with Menzerna sip.
Really work the paint . this should remove the light scratches. Follow up with white pads and menzerna nano. Apply a sealant and your done.
This will take some time but its worth it and if you acquire more scratches down the line , you can fix them too.
Contact Killerwheels ..he will tell you exactly what you need and if you follow his instructions to the letter , you car will look like new.
Todd, you're welcome!! Your work preceeds you.......such great examples. Am still waiting for the Millennium Yellow example you need to do! I still think the black Z06 photos are the dark colored benchmark online. Keep putting them up with Greg. The direction & inspiration are much appreciated. BTW, look for my PM. Appreciate your feedback.
Thx as always.
See ya

Thank you for the referral ...
I think the owner should first decide on the difference in cost for one proper detailing session versus a kit that contains the buffers/polishes/pads necessary to the repair work and allow many additional opportunities down the road. If he chooses to do it himself, well then we need :
Buffer : PC-XP, Flex, or Rotary
Polishes : Menzerna SIP and Nano / or / Megs 105 and 205
Pads : need an assortment with 2 of each from aggressive, med, light
Its hard to offer the ways to use these items online and post. Simply in this case if car is in as bad of shape as offered, we are gonna need alot of time, patience, and several steps. We highly suggest the original poster considering contacting us by toll-free number and we can help with tech answers and spend more time pointing out videos and tutorials. We do appreciate the opportunity to help .....
