Default "Don't Touch The Car!!"

Ok,

So here's the story.

A friend of mine is in my garage looking at my Black Z. He leans over and full on palms the side of the car behind the gas cap. Now i don't ever want to be that guy who yells out "Don't touch it" because IMO it's rude and makes one look over anal....especially when the person looking at the car isn't a car person. While he did it, in my mind, i'm saying it......but while he's rubbing his dirty hands on the car i say nothing.

So later that night. I go into the garage and look at the paint where he touched.......and guess what.....

There are probably 50+ tiny scratches all where he had his hands on the car.

IMO it looks terrible and i could see it in the light from across the garage.....

Regardless......i will probably never tell anyone not to touch the car...unless it's kids or something. But does anyone have any reccommendation on what i can use to remove these little surface scratches? I don't have a polisher....it would have to be a product i can apply by hand..

Thanks in advance.

Or you could try the less aggressive SwirlX first. Followed up by Tech Wax 2.0 that supposedly fills light scratches.

I've also had good luck with SwirlX. It's served me well several times with tiny scratches or blemishes on the dark purple of my car.

I don't have ANY problem with asking (sometimes TELLING) people to keep their cotton pickers off my car. If someone's momma didn't teach them to respect other people's property, then I will.

Perhaps this comes with old age. I no longer worry about being political correct or hurting some idiot's feelings.

Suggest that the next time someone parks their ass or puts your hands on the car that you kindly ask them not to....Then take the time to explain the reasons why. If you do it right they will understand.

Polishing by hand is quite hard and usually for little results. You might try Megs ScratchX 2.0 first and consider a machine and polish combo if it doesnt work. Its the nature of the beast, so easy to scratch and yet much harder to remove.

Megs Scratch X should do it. It might take 3, 4 or 5 thorough hand applications to get them out, but it should do it quite nicely.

Megs scratchX will take care of the scratches, might take a couple times but it will do it. Be sure to follow with wax.

Sorry about the scratches. Hard to imagine that the palms of somebody's hands could do that!?! Next time, just ask them not to lean on it.....my neighbor parked his butt against mine, I asked him not to. No problem.

Thx.

See ya

It'a all in how you ask the person not to touch the car. I usually pre warn them that I have Zaino curing or some type of BS story so they don't even think about getting close to the car (saves me a lot of aggravation later)
