Default Should I try a wool pad?

So I have a very long hair scratch that started at the top of the hood down to the front. I can not catch it with a finger nail but I worked it with my Flex on high with SIP/orange for a good 30 minutes which got rid of most of the scratch. I still have an area that looks bad under light but again, I can not feel it with my nail. Nope, I could not capture a picture of it. I have a wool pad. Should I try it lightly with SIP or maybe zainos fusion. I don't want to burn my paint. Should I just keep grinding at it with SIP/orange pad? I really don't think it is bad enough to wet sand. Oh, please don't ask how I got the scratch. I also have some 3M compound but it seems a little too abrasive.

Do you have a rotary?

If you are using an orbital machine, particularly something like the Flex which as a limited RPM potential (only 480 UNLOADED) you are better of with a foam cutting pad.

Nope, no rotary. Not sure I would be brave enough to try that. I will keep at it with the foam. I am on lock down by the wife tonight but will grind on it some more in the morning.

I've used a foamed wool pad successfully with a Flex duel-action to remove scratches. (9,600 (OPM) without load plus 480 (RPM) forced rotation), although no match for the scratch removal abilities of a single-action rotary polisher, IMO it is the next best thing without the inherent risk of damage)
