Default How can I polish the alternator?

I tried the search function, but was not successful in finding any threads on this subject.

Other than buying either an alternator cover or a chrome alternator & chrome bracket for $$$, is there any way to buff/shine it?

I use semichrome. Good stuff, but very time consuming.

Simichrome polish?
Thanks.

I see it available online. Any autoparts stores carry it?

Occasionally I'll see it at an auto parts store, but you will have the best luck finding it at a motorcycle shop (HD or Honda).

From one Z51 Corvette Owners Group member to another, thank you very much.

Standard stuff at any Harley dealership. It's legendary. The standard by which all others are judged. The standby. Ol Faithful. We bikers brush our teeth with it. Chicks dig us ya know - cause our tooth be sparkly.

I polished one using sandpaper to smooth out the finish, then polished it afterwards. Start with 400,600,1000,1500,2000, then semichrome. You will have a very nice finish when you're done.
