Default very light surface scratch/blemish, any light products can use without using buffer?

just wondering if mothers or someone has a pad and some not to aggresive wax or polish i could use on my black c6, it has some VERY light scratch all the way down the pass side of the car, not even sure if you would call it a scratch is how light it is.

cant feel it at all, it kinda just looks like the plastic guard on a shopping cart might have hit it. i found a guy locally that has 15 yrs exp in buffing cars will do my whole car for 150 but i dunno if i wanna risk swirls on the black car?? help...

I would't let anyone put a buffer on my black car again, much less for $150. There are a number of good light scratch, swirls removers that you might try by hand if it is that minor. Zaiono PC or Menzura Nano both come to mind but I'm sure there are others that will be recommended as well. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Sorry but if someone has 15 years experience buffing cars and he's still doing it for $150, don't walk RUN!!

I don't think you're going to have much luck removing any form of scratches by hand on a diamond hard clear.

I would definitely try and see if you can fix it yourself first with a light polish. Just clean the area first and then apply a light polish to the surface by hand or with a buffer. The Menzerna PO106FF and Menzerna Final Polish II are some of my favorite light polishes.

Finding a quality detailer is definitely very hard. I always recommend you ask a ton of questions, ask to see some before and afters vehicles (preferably in person, not photos) and looks at his tools. If he uses old pads or dirty washing and drying tools you can be pretty sure he won't do your paint any favors. Additionally $150 for a detail that will remove surface imperfections would make me very nervous. Do a lot of research before investing that money. Also you can have a PC 7424, Backing Plate, White Pad and Menzerna Final Polish II shipped to you for under $160 if you take advantage of our 10% off and Free Shipping Promotion. This combination will help you get rid of very light surface imperfections while using a safe and easy buffer. We have helped so many new detailers get very good results, if you are interested please let me know.

Take it from a Vette owner (02 and now 05) the Vettes clearcoat does NOT respond to hand polishing. You can try and AIO type product by hand which my temporarily hide some light scratches with fillers, but even light scratches on Vettes need a power buffer. You just move to a lighter (less abrasive) pad and polish combo. If you need help on a package just call us, its toll free !

I agree with everything that's been said about not going to a "cheap" detailer and using a powered buffer....but that assumes what you have is a "scratch," as you said. If it's from a plastic guard from a shopping cart, for example, it may be in the category of a "scuff." A scuff would be easier to take out by hand. You could always try something over the counter like a Meguiar's swirl remover, by hand, but as has been said, it won't really take out swirl marks. But it will do some good.

$150 to buff out the car sounds too cheap for comfort. I would put that money towards a PC 7424 and polish. You could fix it yourself, and would have the right stuff to do it if it ever happens again. Better yet, go for the Flex if you don't mind spending a little more money.

well guys after talking with the 15 year guy for about an hour and after seeing that they have like 100 cars that they are constantly working on seemed to me that they did good work, the cars they showed me cleaned up really nice, i dropped it off and the 15 year guy assured me he would be the only one touching the car esp as what kinda car it was.

he used a very non aggressive polish for black cars and didnt use a buffer that spins in circles to help with not getting swirl marks. i am (at this point) very happy with the results, scratches are gone, i tried with some hand polish and a pad to get the scratch out the night before i dropped it off to him with ZERO success.

he also advised to keep this look it would be good to wax it regularly, im just hoping that after i wash it a time or two the scratches or scuffs will not return lol. i will post after couple washes. costed me 160$ the car looks AWESOME..

Proper Washing and Drying techniques are actually the best choice in preventing swirls which means another visit to detailer. If you need some hints, just ask, and glad to see your finish is back to your expectation !
