Zaino's New MF Towel
#23
I ran into Tony from Zaino last month, and he gave me a few of the new MF's to try out. (Thanks again Tony!)
I have 6 plastic storage tubs of MF's, from just about every on-line vendor you could name. Some are used for QD, others for polish, some work better for removing sealer, some were crap from the start and are used on jams and interiors only, etc...
I prefer a thick plush MF, but over time, all of my plush towels tend to collect contaminants that can scratch the finish, or lose their ability to absorb and tend to push QD products around the paint. I get sick of spending 10+ minutes to inspect each towel, pick out any contaminants, etc.. I clean out the washer & dryer thoroughly before washing my MF's. The lint trap is cleaned out, dryer is wiped down, etc... I'm pretty **** with MF's (because I hate to chase swirl marks around on our black paint caused by poor performing towels).
I've used (and washed) the Zaino towels 5-6 times now and I'm very impressed. The towels are plush, and baby skin smooth feeling. They work great with QD, removing polish and sealer, and on glass. I have not experienced any swirls on my paint from these towels-and I'm **** about our black paint. The towels don't have cut edges, which worried me at first. I was happy to see our HE washer/dryer didn't frey the hell out of them. They are holding up great! I can't wait to see these towels for sale, and hope they come in a variety of sizes (the ones I have are 16 x 16).
I ran into Tony a few years ago at Carlisle. He had a large duffle bag stuffed with a variety of MF towels, fabrics, cuts, etc... from around the world. It's clear that the folks at Zaino have done their homework. These towels are the real deal--no gimmicks

I spoke with one of their suppliers and they claimed to be unaware of any Zaino microfibers. They said Sal doesn't like microfibers. I guess you need to be in the inner circle to get them, which apparently I am not. I bought some of the new Shamrock Microfibers from AutoGeek.

That distributor is obviously mistaken...Tony @ Zaino has already replied to this thread and confirmed the towel, but no, it is not in production yet.

It would seem they are starting to be released here in the US. I stopped by my local Zanio dealer (KC Trends) here in Kansas City and they had one 3 pack of towels which I picked up. The were a bit over $20 and are the softest towels I have ever seen. I checked the Zaino website today and they don't yet have them on there yet. I just got them this weekend so I haven't had a chance to use them, however I will hopefully try them out to night to QD after I wash my car.

The Minnesota Zaino dealer (Track Time Motorsports) has some of the towels that he got as samples from Tony. They are a silky smooth to use with Z8 when I got to take one for a test.
I really like the 'edgeless' design, especially if it holds up to multiple washings.

The suspense is killing me I guess you need to live in Europe or Kansas to get them even though we have been buying their products faithfully for years
