Default Electric Orbital Waxers/Polishers

I recently purchased a 00 Torch Red C-5 Vert and am about to store it until next spring but am already anticipating getting it out then. I really like the car and can't wait for Spring now.

I'll wax and polish it next spring but really have no experience with Electric Orbital Waxers/Polishers as I have always waxed/polished my cars by hand (what a work out!).

I have read some about these units but know very little in regard to brand and value. A friend told me to get a "dual action polisher" as it will not burn paint?

What is the best value and brands I should be looking for?

As always, any response is really appreciated.

You should check out the care car section for the best answers.
I have a Porter Cable that came with a kit from Adam's Polishes. That's what I would recommend.

There is no contest. Ask Autogeek and every other pro detailer and they'll tell you the Flex. They'll also make note of "if you've got the money for it". It is by far the most powerful on the market to date.

For the Vette and its unusually hard clearcoat, here is the package deal.

I went to the local LOWES, then bought the holder & applicators at NAPA . VERY satisified with my Porter Cable.

Save your money and spend it on a good wax like Zaino. Good waxes are easy to apply and there is less risk of marking the paint when you do it by hand IMO.

However, if you have existing swirl marks in your paint you will need a dual action polisher to eliminate them.

Depending on where you get it the Porter Cable should run around $100. If you try to use too much force with the PC it will stop moving. You just lay the pad on the car and use your hand to keep the motor housing off the car. The weight of the machine itself is all you need. There is an almost endless selection of pads, polishes, and wax products to choose from. I go to my local Colours store to buy them.

Thanks to all, for your time, responding. I now have enough info to plan for next Spring.
