Default Help....Stains on wheels

I lent my origional C5 wheels to someone. I did not clean them up when they were returned and the wheels sat in a garage for about 8 months. The inside barrels on thewheels developed a white crud on them. I have tried all kinds of stuff on them and it doesn't come off.

Anyone have any clue what it is or how to get rid of it?

it looks like pitting in the paint ... likely from brake dust etching the surface. Can you feel it with you nail ???

Yes, but it looks and feels like it is built up not burnt down in the surface. If it was etched down anyway to get it out???
Thanks for the reply.....

Do you know anyway to get rid of that or should I recycle them and turn them into Budweiser cans?

The only thing I know to do is to have them polished. It's a tedious process if you decide to tackle it. Multiple grades of abrasive paper followed by polishing. A second option is to have them chromed or painted.

I'm sure there are other, even better options that someone else on this forum may know of. I wouldn't rush to junk them too soon.

repolishing is about the best option, lucky its the barrels and not the face.
