Default Autogeek, exterior trim question...

The rubber and plastic pieces on my car have wax/polish stains and are faded. What should I use to help bring back the "new" look to the trim?

Also, I heard that the absorber can remove carnauba wax, any truth to this? Would a leather chamois do the same thing?

Default Forever Black Trim Dye works wonders...

They sell a kit at Autogeek and it's cheap...Forever Black..I use it for little touchups, but have seen it done on whole cars with superior results..This is a dye which is PERMANENT and doesn't wash away..

Trust me when you use it you will love it..

Absorber hasn't done much for removing wax on my car I think.

Try peanut butter for getting white residue off black trim.

They sell several products that are really nice for restoring shine, I like Black Again personally.

Do not know about absorber, I have never used it, I use Guzzlers to dry my car. As for the trim best thing we have seen out there is Black Wow or if you want to dye it back to black use Forever Black

I would only add Poorboys Trim Restorer as a replacement for Black WoW as wanted. Forever Black is a more permanent dye solution and usually needs a couple coats for best look and even appearance then you can leave it alone for months as wanted.

Off topic, but it's my thread, so it's ok.

I bought a Meguiars microfiber drying cloth. Can I use DP microfiber cleaner to wash this? I only ask because it's not your typical looking microfiber.

Out of curiosity, are you referring to cobra's guzzler microfiber(waffle weave) drying towels? I have them, but definitely prefer the chamois feel. The Megs microfiber drying cloth has a close feel of a chamois, but does not drag as much.

chamois have no nap, unlike a waffle weave and can introduce swirls rather quickly if any sand or contaminent blows onto paint between washing and drying. While it might move a little easier, it is a little riskier IMO.

spray the damp finish with a quick detailer, and then lightly allow WW MF towel to glide across finish. It might make it a little easier and also help prevent swirls. Might also add some gloss between wax sessions ...
